Helping Loved Ones Stay Home Longer
Get to know Stacy and Kaipo with Home Instead
This month we get to know Stacy and Kaipo Robello, who own Home Instead. Our family has been blessed by this team of people who genuinely care for loved ones who need extra care or companionship. I can personally attest to how helpful they have been for our family, and I am thankful to get to share more about them with all of you.
Stacy and Kaipo are the second-generation owners of Home Instead, a business that has been serving older adults in Pensacola, Florida, for over two decades. As leaders in the home care industry, they are dedicated to providing quality care to their clients and creating a positive work culture for their employees.
Stacy was born in Memphis and spent half of her childhood there and in Atlanta. As a teenager,
her parents moved their family to Pensacola and they have been here for nearly 30 years. Her journey to becoming a business owner began during her time as a student at the University of West Florida. She worked in the physical therapy department at Baptist Hospital, where she helped patients get moving to reduce their hospital stays. Later, her mother invited her to work with her at Home Instead, where she found her passion for helping people live at home for as long as possible. After a teaching career, Stacy returned to Home Instead and eventually became a co-owner of the business with her husband, Kaipo.

Kaipo was born in Hawaii and spent most of his childhood there but moved to Pensacola
during his high school years. He has owned seven businesses over the years, including a screenprinting shop, liquor stores, a bar, a motorcycle shop, and a surf shop. However, it is his work with Home Instead that has been the most rewarding. He enjoys serving older adults with services that keep them as independent as possible and being a choice employer in the Pensacola home care industry.
Home Instead offers a range of services to their clients, including Personal Care, Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care, Hospice Support, Chronic Illness Care, Home Helper, Transportation & Companionship. All of their employees are either Home Health Aides or CNA’s and are Alzheimer’s and Dementia Certified. They have a thorough screening process that includes interviews, drug screening, level 2 background checks, DMV checks, and training that covers Alzheimer's & Dementia, CPR, and Home Health Aide training.
One thing that sets Home Instead apart is its focus on its employees. They believe that if their employees are happy, their clients will be happy. Their commitment to creating a positive work culture starts with the Home Instead culture, orientation, and training.
For Stacy and Kaipo, their work is personal. When their family was faced with the difficult decision of moving their grandmother out of her home of nearly 30 years, they discovered firsthand the impact that a lack of home care options can have on families. "Even though they really wanted her stay home, there were no options in her area of home care," Stacy shared. "Moving her was a huge disruption in her life and she did not live long after the move was done." This deepened the family's desire to provide the opportunity for other families to keep their loved ones at home for as long as possible.
Their advice to the community is to have a long-term care plan in place, whether it's staying at home or moving to a retirement community or memory care center. Communication is key, and families should have discussions about their plans before an accident or crisis happens. While it can be a difficult conversation to have, families will be so glad they did, and Home Instead also provides guidelines on having these conversations.
Stacy and Kaipo are proud to be local business owners who are actively involved in our community. When they're not working, they enjoy spending time with their children, traveling, spending time on their boat, and enjoying the beautiful beaches of Pensacola.
Stacy and Kaipo are leaders in the home care industry here in Pensacola, and they are dedicated to providing quality care to their clients and creating a positive work culture for their employees. Their personal experiences have inspired them to help other families keep their loved ones at home for as long as possible, and their advice to the community is to have a long-term care plan in place and communicate it with their families. They are committed to making Pensacola a better place to live as we age, and their involvement in the community reflects that commitment.
