Neighborhood Volunteer Spotlight: Rebecca Elliott
This month, we’re thrilled to shine a light on Rebecca Elliott, a neighbor whose enthusiasm, leadership, and “how can I help?” attitude have made a meaningful impact on Newman Village.
Meet Rebecca
Rebecca and her family have been part of Newman Village for three years and have quickly become a vibrant presence in the community. She and her husband, Chad, both work in the employee-benefits field—Rebecca on the broker side and Chad on the carrier side. Originally from St. Louis, she’s a proud Saint Louis University graduate, while Chad brings his Tulsa roots and unwavering OU Football loyalty to the family mix.
Their three children—ages 14, 12, and 5—are active in soccer, football, basketball, and volleyball. The older two attend Griffin Middle School, and their youngest is at Primrose, heading to Newman Elementary next year.
A Backyard Made for Memories
The Elliott home has become a hub for fun, friends, and family. Their backyard patio is their favorite gathering spot—a place filled with laughter, spontaneous pool time, weekend games on the dual TVs, and cozy evenings by the heater. With towering trees, playful spaces for kids, and the welcoming feel of a true family hangout, it’s easy to see why their home is a favorite place to gather.
Dedicated to Keeping Newman Village Safe
Rebecca currently serves as the Board Liaison for the Safety & Risk Mitigation Committee (SRMC)—a role she takes incredibly seriously. She and her team of volunteers are deeply committed to keeping our neighborhood safe and ensuring that our gates stay functional, reliable, and effectively operated. Her leadership has strengthened communication, responsiveness, and coordination across the community.
Champion of Community Events
Rebecca also plays a key role in coordinating Newman Village social events, and her efforts helped make Halloween and our annual “It’s a Wonderful Life” holiday celebration smashing successes. From organizing volunteers to troubleshooting details behind the scenes, she brings creativity, energy, and a welcoming spirit to every event she touches.
Why She Volunteers
Her philosophy is simple—and powerful:
“Instead of complaining, I ask where I can help.”
Rebecca believes in showing up, pitching in, and building real relationships with neighbors. Her willingness to lean in and make a difference has helped foster a stronger, safer, and more connected Newman Village.
A Neighbor Worth Knowing
We’re grateful for Rebecca’s dedication, leadership, and wholehearted community spirit. Newman Village is better because of neighbors like her.
