When & where did you adopt your pets?
Bella was adopted when she was 8. We have had her for 9 years. She has won first place in the Norton Commons dog show small dog event. She rules the roost here. Bella is 100% pet quality and prefers to stroll around Norton Commons in her pink stroller or the golf cart. She tolerates her siblings but demands undivided attention from her human owners. She is the queen, sleeps wherever she wants, and enjoys obeying occasionally.
Macha was our dream dog. We got her about two years ago to help us have an adventure dog.  She has started bike journeying, tracking, and is already titled in AKC CGC, CGC, A, and Trick Dog novice. She has big plans to title in Obedience with the AKC  and prove that her breed can break any sort of stigma barriers!! She is also cross-trained as a service dog and also won the Norton Commons large breed pet pageant. She's a beauty queen and knows how to have fun!
Macha has been so much fun, it made us heavily consider a completely focused working line dog. We got Deimos a little over a year ago and started heavy training right away. He is titled in AKC CGA and CGA-A. He is set to trial in FO in the Working Dog of America trials this summer. Deimos is cross-training in scent detection, tracking, and dock diving, and working hard to learn how to perform at a competition level in as many categories as possible. He is a serious guy who likes to have a job! He is ALWAYS hungry and ALWAYS ready to show off.
How did your pets get his/her name?
Bella was already named when we adopted her.
Macha - named for the Celtic Goddess and the protector of women and children.
Deimos - named for the Greek god, personification of fear.
But more lovingly we refer to Bella as Bella boo, Macha is Macha Mach and deimos as Ricardo Milos or Sir.
Tell us something quirky or funny that your pets does:
Bella - always sneaks off to forage for food that another dog might have left or dropped. She can often be caught red-handed.
Macha will always tattle. She's the one picking up toys and bringing them to us. She also tries to sneak food to Bella.
Deimos just wants love. He is always trying to get a lick or a pet in to his owners. Super serious around the crowd, but cant wait to get a snuggle at home.
How has having your pets made your life better?
We love these dogs and see ourselves with more. For now, we do occasionally foster. We are having a blast training and can't wait to see how the puppies continue to develop. We owe a lot of credit to our amazing trainers at Double Canine, specifically Rich Hardin. We initially had some pretty negative experiences with other places, but have found an awesome home with Rich.  We also go to group trainings at our local working line club and do trial prep. Another major addition to our team is Dogwood Veterinary with Dr. Chris. He has become such a big part of our success.
