2009 Porsche Cayman S

Type of vehicle:
Porsche Cayman S
How long have you had it?
1.5 years
How did you come to own it?
I was looking for a specific year, trim, and spec that was difficult to find. This one came up locally through some connections, and I jumped on it.
How often do you drive it?
I drive it mostly during nice days but in all seasons. This is not a garage queen. In fact, I track the car on road courses. That was the primary purpose for buying this particular car. I’m investing in safety gear and upgrades to improve the car’s performance at the track.
Where do you drive it?
I love to take it down Sleepy Hollow and Covered Bridge Rd. There are many fun roads in Oldham County that I like to drive. But there’s nowhere I won’t take it.
Favorite travel story:
My friends in the neighborhood and I took our cars out with absolutely no destination. We just started driving down Sleep Hollow and turned down roads we’ve not driven before. It was an hour-long drive on a really nice days through some beautiful spots in Oldham County. Not having a destination or clear loop in mind made it really special.
What do you like about the vehicle?
It’s light and agile, and fast enough to have fun, but not so fast as to get you into trouble. You can really explore the limits of the car and have fun with it off the track.
Describe the restoration work that’s been done. If it was done by you, please give details. If it was done locally and you’re happy with the results, please provide the name of the company:
I have some work that’s done on the car, but all of it is done by Winning Formula to improve on-track performance. They are really some of the best in the nation when it comes to track-oriented Cayman builds. They also specialize in other brands/cars when it comes to track and performance tuning. Currently, I have upgraded brakes and suspension.
What restoration work do you want/hope to do?
I have a lot in the works - continued tuning of the suspension, racing seats, and aerodynamics.
What’s the significance of this vehicle to you personally?
I’ve always loved Porsches and motorsports. Getting to participate in my own Porsche is really quite special. Also, my son is becoming quite a young car enthusiast and absolutely loves going on drives with me.
What are your plans for this vehicle?
I’m not sure - I want it to be a good street/track hybrid.
