Mya’s Friends LLC
The Best Care For Your Best Friend
Ashley Evans has always been the go-to person when someone needs help with their pets.
With a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a veterinary assisting certification from Animal Behavior College, it was only a matter of time before she turned that passion into something bigger. Today, Ashley’s the proud founder of Mya’s Friends LLC, a local business that’s built on love, reliability, and plenty of tail wags.
Ready, Set, Launch
Ashley established Mya’s Friends at the tail end of COVID, when the world was still feeling uncertain and people were rethinking what mattered most.
“We started on a dream of doing something not only for ourselves but to do something with meaning,” Ashley explains. “And why not do it for our own business instead of someone else’s?”
The business was aptly named after her own dog, Mya, and inspired by the simple idea that every pet deserves the same care and attention.
Mya’s Friends offers a full suite of pet services — dog walking, pet sitting, boarding, and even wedding pet attendant services (yes, your four-legged friend can be part of your big day!) Whether you're heading out of town or just need help during a busy week, Ashley and her team are ready to jump in and assist.
“We guarantee your pet will be loved as if they were our own,” she offers. “We will go that extra mile because we want them to be comfortable and happy while you’re away.”
Lasting Bonds
Like any small business, Mya’s Friends has faced its share of obstacles — namely, building a consistent schedule in an industry where bookings can ebb and flow. But Ashley has leaned into consistency and customer service to forge strong relationships.
“We overcome this challenge by staying consistent and ensuring our recurring clients get the best service and dedicated energy at each visit,” she shares.
Ashley’s approach is clearly working — just ask her growing list of devoted pet parents who keep coming back for the kind of care they can’t find anywhere else.
One thing Ashley always encourages? Training the basics. Not only do they make the sitter’s job smoother, but they also boost your pet’s confidence and safety in unfamiliar situations.
“Commands like ‘Place,’ ‘Stay,’ ‘Sit,’ ‘Wait,’ and ‘Come’ are always very helpful for pet sitters and the owners,” Ashley suggests. “Pets get scared, sometimes by random things. To best protect the sitter and the pet, having commands they listen to no matter what is very important.
“We’ll always ask for pet triggers to try and avoid them, but sometimes it’s impossible,” she continues. “Training helps the pet be more confident — and the sitter too.”
Off The Clock
At home in NoCo, Ashley’s world revolves around her husband Jesse, their daughter Rylee, Mya (of course), and two cats, Apollo and Hallie. And while life can get incredibly busy juggling family, pets, and a growing business, Ashley remains devoted to getting involved in local events whenever she can.
“We try to be part of various events around the city to connect with pet lovers,” she concludes with a smile.
