Can you share a memorable experience or story from your life? After serving in the Air Force, Vernon worked for Western Airlines as an avionics mechanic before joining the FAA. There, he worked as a lead safety inspector and accident investigator based out of LAX, where he had the opportunity to fly all over the world. His career eventually led him to Louisville, not long after the city became the hub for UPS.

Are there any particular accomplishments or achievements that you are proud of? Vernon is the proud grandfather of six wonderful grandchildren.

Is there anything else that you would like to share? Vernon Erfurth was born in Texas and raised in Los Angeles along with his two brothers. He served in the Air Force before going on to marry and have three sons.  After retiring, Vernon bought a small farm in Spencer County, where he grew corn and soybeans, among other things. After selling the farm, he spent his time with his dog, Heidi, and at occasional family dinner gatherings where tacos were a favorite.
