Henry’s World: Ice Cream, Race Cars & Baby Blue Dreams
This Oak Creek pre-K grad is racing through life with a scooter, a sweet tooth, and a heart full of imagination.
Henry Oshiro is a four-year-old pre-K student from Oak Creek. Henry’s family moved to Oak Creek in 2022, so Henry has lived here the majority of his life. You might spot him in the neighborhood, especially when the weather is nice; he loves going outside and riding his scooter. He likes playing with his cars and trucks, playing soccer, and running races with his dad. That’s not the only hobby he shares with his dad, as they are both avid fans of Formula One, hockey, and basketball.
If Henry could have any super power, he says he would want to turn baby blue, since it’s his favorite color. Speaking of babies, Henry says his best friend is his baby brother, Charlie. Henry’s favorite subjects in school are Spanish, music, and painting, so it’s likely that little Charlie will pick a few tricks from him over the years.
Henry likes to travel. He recently attended a Texas Rangers baseball game, where he discovered (and fell in love with) the stadium’s ice cream. In the near future, Henry is taking a trip to California to see his Uncle Sean graduate from university, and he’s very excited to go on an airplane. Despite his adventures, Henry doesn’t need fancy things in life; if he could go to any place in the world, he would just like to go wherever good snacks are found.
Between his travels, commitment to sports fandom, and play time, Henry makes school a priority in his young life. He just graduated from St. Mary’s Early Childhood Learning Center. In August, he will start pre-K at the Early Steps Bilingual Academy. When he grows up and puts his schooling behind him, he wants to be a race car driver. His car of choice? A baby blue Formula One Ferrari.
Henry loves birthdays. He sees them as an opportunity to sing “Happy Birthday” louder than anyone else at the party. He might even like to sing “Happy Birthday” to a giraffe or an elephant, since those are his favorite animals. Still, he has a soft spot for his dogs, Luna and Brownie. He likes to buy them toys. At the end of the day, Henry Oshiro is your typical four-year-old. He’s growing up fast, and he’s not planning on slowing down. He’ll be trading his scooter for his Ferrari in no time!
Oh, just one thing Henry: when you’re behind the wheel of that Ferrari, slow down when you get to Oak Creek. We want to see how cool you look driving by.
