Serving Up Her Future

From varsity volleyball to a future in physical therapy, Aubrey Felton is setting up success every step of the way.

Eighteen-year-old senior Aubrey Felton is graduating from Tyler Legacy High School. She is the daughter of Chris and Jamey Felton and the sister of Noah and Micah Felton.

In her free time, Aubrey enjoys working out and playing volleyball. She attended Grace Community High School for three years before moving to Tyler Legacy High School for her senior year. She played on the varsity volleyball team for all four years of high school. She is also a member of Rose Heights Church and is an active member of the youth program there.

Her most memorable high school moment was her freshman "go week" trip. “We went to Camp Eagle and we helped to build trails, went hiking, went swimming in a lake, and camped outside,” Aubrey shares. This experience at Camp Eagle is one she will never forget.

Speaking of memorable, Aubrey gives special thanks to her freshman and junior year Bible teacher, Mr. Cook. “Mr. Cook taught me so many things that blew my mind, and he helped me really understand the Scripture I was reading,” Aubrey shares, adding that he “would always ask about my day and listen to me rant about whatever was going on in my other classes.” It is teachers like Mr. Cook who help make experiences like Aubrey’s so special.

Through all her athletic and academic ventures, Aubrey says she had to learn how to prioritize her responsibilities. “Keeping my grades up had to come first, then athletics, and then personal time,” she shares. Learning how to manage those different areas of life paid off; throughout her high school career, Aubrey received an honors award and two high honors awards. She was Honorable Mention All-State volleyball and Academic All-State volleyball in 2024, First Team All-District volleyball in 2023, Academic All-State in 2025, and Blue Bell/TSWA Class 6A All-State.

Aubrey credits her friends and family for supporting her in everything she has done. “They have challenged me and helped me to become better in every aspect of my life,” Aubrey says. “I wouldn't be where I am today without them.”

After graduation, Aubrey will attend Tennessee Wesleyan University in the fall to continue her education and volleyball career. She plans on majoring in exercise science to become a physical therapist with aims to help people overcome their injuries. “A lot of athletes sort of lose themselves after a big injury and I want to be able to help them through the recovery process and show them that their athletic career doesn't have to be over,” she shares. Through college and beyond, Aubrey hopes to be a light and to show the light of Jesus to everyone around her.

Congratulations, Aubrey!
