Meet Andrea and Kaitlin Gotcher, the dynamic mother-daughter team behind Escape Room Brighton. This award-winning entertainment destination has been delighting Michigan families, friends, and teams with unforgettable experiences. Together with their amazing team of general managers, they run both the Brighton and Novi locations, offering immersive adventures for all ages.

Andrea’s professional background is rooted in real estate, banking, and lending services, a career she has been building since 1992. At one point, she successfully managed seven net branches with over 30 loan officers and staff. 

Today, in addition to running Escape Room Brighton, she is also a property manager and a licensed buyer’s agent. When she’s not juggling her many professional roles, you can find Andrea on the volleyball court, either playing or coaching. Her dedication to business, family, and community is at the heart of everything she does.

Kaitlin graduated from Kalamazoo College in 2015, and after traveling and living around the globe, she returned to Michigan to join the family business. Her experiences include teaching English in Italy and helping her grandmother manage a massive antique and oddities shop in Washington State. When she’s not creating adventures at Escape Room Brighton, Kaitlin is an outdoors enthusiast, hiker, and nature photographer who finds inspiration in the beauty around her.

Escape Room Brighton began as Puzzled Escape, purchased by previous owner Dan Barr in 2020. Andrea and Kaitlin first discovered the business after renting a mobile escape room for a graduation party and instantly fell in love with the experience. In 2024, they saw the opportunity to purchase this well-established, award-winning escape room and continue its mission:

Andrea admits that the biggest challenge was transitioning from real estate into entertainment. Learning the ins and outs of the industry, from operations to customer expectations, was a steep learning curve. But their dedication to continuous improvement and community engagement has paid off.
 Today, Escape Room Brighton is thriving—and the Gotcher family is even exploring opportunities to expand into additional locations.
