Pawrade Fun
Despite stormy weather cutting the event short, Oak Pointe’s first-ever STROLL Pawrade & Playtime still brought neighbors, pets, and local business partners together for a fun-filled afternoon of connection, treats, photos, and community spirit.

Michigan weather may have had other plans, but Oak Pointe’s very first STROLL Pawrade & Playtime still brought neighbors together for a fun and memorable afternoon with their furry friends.
The event began with strong winds that eventually settled down, giving neighbors time to gather, mingle, and enjoy the festivities before an unexpected storm rolled in about 30 minutes later. While the rain unfortunately cut the event short, the excitement and community spirit were still very much present.
Neighbors arrived with adorable dogs ready to parade around the Oak Pointe Country Club tennis parking lot, show off their personalities, and connect with fellow pet lovers in the neighborhood. Despite the weather challenges, there were still plenty of smiles, tail wags, and conversations shared throughout the afternoon.
A huge thank you goes to Oak Pointe neighbor Angela Putkela of The Putkela Team for generously providing coffee and doughnuts to keep everyone warm and energized on the windy afternoon. Corner Studio Spa also added a thoughtful touch with locally made dog treats featuring their logo, along with a special take-home prize that was planned for one of the contest winners.
Additional thank yous go to Jewels Pet Cuisine for providing delicious take-home pet treat samples for furry attendees, and Redbeards Scoop Valet for supplying cleanup bags and helping support the event experience for neighbors and their pets.
The event also featured a festive balloon photo backdrop created by Starrstruck Balloons & Decor, giving neighbors a fun spot to snap photos with their pets before the storm rolled in.
Even though the weather prevented some of the planned activities from taking place, neighbors still enjoyed seeing the agility setup from Szegi Haus K9 Solutions and meeting Raven, their impressive German Shepherd. The team had also planned a fun pup cup eating contest and additional activities that unfortunately had to be canceled once the storm arrived.
While Mother Nature may have interrupted the afternoon, the event still marked a fun first step toward building a new Oak Pointe tradition for pet-loving neighbors and families. Sometimes the best community moments are less about perfection and more about simply showing up, connecting, and making the most of the moment together.
We are already looking forward to bringing Pawrade & Playtime back next year with hopes for sunshine, calmer winds, and even more wagging tails.
