Pink Classic Golf Outing Highlights
The Oakhurst Women’s Golf Association held their annual Pink Classic golf outing on August 19th at the club. Despite storms that threatened to wash out the day, the golfers were able to finish the event in full and raised approximately $10,000 for Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).
The evening began with pre-round pizza sponsored by Dave Coin with McNeil Agency, Inc., and beverages courtesy of the ever-popular “Dad Bods of Oakhurst.” Families once again showed their generosity, sponsoring signs to uplift participants and honor breast cancer warriors.
A heartfelt thank-you goes out to these sponsors: Candice Hukka, Brian Shore, Red Wings Alumni Association, Professional Dental of Clarkston (Amy and Brian Davidson), Farm Bureau Insurance (Kelly Richardson), Society Boutique (Kristin Milliken), Jack Nacy (Rocket Mortgage), Kim Kittle, Linda McCarthy, Jeanne Richards, Donna McDonald, Maria Kinsler, Maureen Roth, Sue Zuckerberg, BeautiLofts (Lauren Falzone), Marilu Fitzgerald, Kim Hunt, Mary Panter, Chris Rogers, Sue Dankovich and George Bowman.
Throughout the evening, there were plenty of ways to give back. Oakhurst golfers and neighbors contributed 52 bottles of wine for the always-popular wine pull. A 50/50 raffle added excitement, and guests enjoyed a raffle featuring prizes ranging from spa packages to boutique gifts. Oakhurst donated both a dinner for four at Hills Chop House and six private golf lessons, as well as a portion of the proceeds from golf and dinner that evening.
Additional prizes came from Society Boutique, Woodside Spa, and Stroll Oakhurst Sponsors, (Kelly) Richardson Agency Farm Bureau Insurance, (Brieanna Bacon) Allow Nourishment, and (Deborah Johnson) Mary Kay Cosmetics. Marion Salwin and I also enjoyed creating gift prizes.
Thanks to the combined efforts of sponsors, donors, and participants, the Pink Classic continues to make a meaningful impact year after year to support the fight against breast cancer.
Special appreciation goes to George Bowman, Michael Saroli, Reginia Hoder, and Aaron Spokaeski from Oakhurst, as well as the hardworking committee of Chris Rogers, Marilu Fitzgerald, Mari Panter, and Kim Hunt, whose dedication brought the event together.
