Holden Has It Made!

The Sesti family shares their handsome Holden in this month's Pawsitive Pets feature. I'm in love! Look at that face!

HELLO
Hello, my name is Holden, a handsome Heinz 57 mix, including equal parts "scaredy-cat" and lovable "teddy bear." My earliest thoughts begin with Canine Companions Rescue Center in Clarkston before I was adopted as a puppy. Mom and Dad (or Zak and Jen) named me after the dorm Dad lived in his freshman year at Michigan State University - Holden Hall. Our neighbors adopted my brother and named him Breslin. I miss him so much. He crossed over the rainbow bridge several years before his time. Here's a glimpse of what it's like around the Sesti home since I've been there!

SPARTAN SPECIAL
Talents and toys, tricks and treats,  Holden may be a big dog, but he's scared of his own shadow. You'd expect tough and brave, he's absolutely neither: He's a total cat-dog at heart. But like most dogs, he LOVES to run. Holden is always out front, harness on, proudly leading his pack. His sensitive tummy may have prevented Holden from having the typical pet store treats and scraps from family meals, but don't feel sorry for him. He has homemade pot roast with EVERY meal. He's completely spoiled (in a good way) and treated like one of the boys.

PACK AND PLAYMATES
Holden has a whole crew of dog friends here in Oakhurst. He especially LOVES walking with FINN Kilpatrick. Holden also loves going to DUKE Laurence's yard to run around and play. He's pretty fond of DEXTER Fishtahler (who is still learning to appreciate his big buddy's energy.

THE FAMILY FARM
Field trips and adventure. Holden's best days may very well be at the family farm where the grandparents live in Imlay City. Easily one of his favorite happy places, the farm is full of animals and endless acres to run.

HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS
Zak and Jen built their home on Powelton Court in 2012. Their boys, Brendan and Connor have grown up here in Oakhurst with Holden and made lifelong friends just like Mom and Dad. They found a community of parents who became friends who support one another, extending our family and making everyday a special day. Our pets are part of our family and they make friends too.
