Children's Home of Lubbock

For over 70 years, the Children’s Home of Lubbock has been a turning point for children
across West Texas. For those displaced by the trauma of neglect or abuse, we provide
the stability they need to navigate life's hardest chapters and begin the journey toward
healing. Our mission is working to provide quality care that transforms the lives of at-risk
children and their families through the active compassion of Christ.
Whether through foster care, counseling, or our residential group care, we provide a
foundation of support for more than 90 children each month. In 2025, that support
reached 226 children and young adults, further building on a legacy that includes over
1,050 adoptions and 7,400 lives transformed since 1954.
A core strength of the organization is its proactive approach to evolving programs that
meet the shifting needs of children and families. For nearly a decade, the Children's
Home has utilized the Sanctuary Model, a trauma-informed culture of care that is
implemented across campus and in every home we serve. This evidence-based
approach is highly effective for anyone healing from severe trauma. Consistently
recognized by licensure reviews as one of the premier programs in Texas, the Home
emphasizes holistic family rehabilitation and specialized care.
How can you help?
Events: Our favorite traditions are the ones that bring our community together for our
kids. That is why we are so excited to invite you to the 36th Annual Floyd Stumbo
Memorial Golf Tournament. Whether you’ve been a regular on the green with us for
years or you’re considering joining us for the first time, your presence makes an
amazing difference. Stay on par and enjoy a day on the green at the Hillcrest Country
Club on June 8, and visit lubbockgolf.org for more details.
Foster Care: The Children’s Home of Lubbock is looking for West Texas families to
become licensed foster parents and adoptive parents. As a foster parent for the
Children’s Home, you can expect to have an experienced case manager dedicated to
your foster needs, the ability to participate in monthly foster parent support group, and
you will have access to a community of resources to make your experience the best it
can be.
Volunteer: The campus, like any small community, has numerous jobs that must be
done to keep things running smoothly. Volunteers assist with daily tasks, special events,
big projects, or by simply giving extra attention to the children. This is accomplished
through hands-on work, prayers for our children, charity drives or other financial
support. Volunteers can help with tutoring during the school year, bring crafts or DIY
activities, bring food, play games or activities, clean up the campus, host birthday
parties for kids on campus, sponsor a cottage for Christmas, the possibilities are
endless. If you have your own ideas, let us know!
