Cozy Winter Spiced Pear Crisp

January pears are perfectly sweet and juicy, making them the star of this comforting dessert. Spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg, and a hint of ginger, this pear crisp fills your home with the coziest winter aroma.
Ingredients
For the filling:
- 5–6 ripe pears, peeled and sliced
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
- ¼ tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
For the crisp topping:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- ½ cup flour
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup cold butter, cubed
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In a mixing bowl, toss sliced pears with lemon juice, brown sugar, spices, vanilla, and cornstarch. Spread into a greased baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in the butter with a fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the topping evenly over the pears.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the topping is golden and the filling is bubbling.
- Let cool slightly, then serve warm.
Serve With:
- A scoop of vanilla ice cream
- Whipped cream
- Or a drizzle of caramel for extra indulgence
