Congratulations Graduating Class of 2026!
This month, we celebrate the Class of 2026 and a milestone that reflects years of hard work, growth, and unforgettable memories. Whether moving up or moving on, each graduate carries a unique story shaped by challenges, friendships, perseverance, and achievement. Graduation is more than a diploma—it’s a testament to resilience and the courage to keep going. Thank you to the families, teachers, and mentors whose support made this moment possible. As graduates step into what’s next, may they stay curious, take chances, and embrace a future full of possibility.
Will Hutson is graduating from Liberty High School as a proud member of its very first graduating class, leaving behind a legacy of leadership, athletic excellence, and school spirit. This fall, he will attend Texas Tech University to pursue a degree in Business Management. During his time at Liberty, Will earned numerous honors, including Homecoming King and Patriot of the Year his junior year. A standout multi-sport athlete, he made history by scoring the first-ever touchdown at Patriot Stadium as a varsity football player, while also earning Academic All-District and 2nd Team All-District recognition his senior year, along with Patriot Awards both junior and senior years. On the baseball field, he received the Patriot Award and 1st Team All-District honors as a sophomore, followed by a Golden Glove Award and another 1st Team All-District selection as a junior. Finnley Forero is graduating from Lubbock-Cooper Liberty High School and will be heading to the University of Alabama this fall to pursue a degree in Nursing. Throughout high school, she has been deeply involved in both service and leadership, participating in organizations such as the Lubbock Symphony Guild Debutante program, National Charity League, Student Council, HOSA, Spanish Club, and the National Honor Society. Finnley was also recognized for her academic excellence with the Algebra II Award and earned her certification as a Patient Care Technician, reflecting her early commitment to the healthcare field.
Jackson Ballou is graduating from Liberty High School and will continue both his academic and athletic journey at McMurry University, where he plans to major in business and compete on the golf team. During his time at Liberty, Jackson was a dedicated member of the golf team, building strong skills and a competitive spirit that he will carry with him to the collegiate level.
Caleb Mead is graduating from Liberty High School and will attend Texas Tech University, where he has been accepted into the Rawls College of Business and the Honors College. A member of the National Honor Society, Caleb balanced academics with athletics as a basketball player and also pursued the unique distinction of competing as a professional offshore boat racer. Outside of school, he gained hands-on experience working as a hunting guide and in ranch management. Caleb enjoys spending time outdoors—whether hunting, snowboarding in the mountains, or out on the lake—as well as traveling and being with family.
Madisyn McPhaul is graduating from Liberty High School and plans to pursue a future in Business and Marketing. Throughout high school, she maintained a 4.0 GPA while completing both Honors and dual credit coursework. Maddi was actively involved in volleyball at both the school and club level, as well as organizations such as HOSA and the National Honor Society. Beyond academics and athletics, she dedicated her time to serving her community through her church, where she worked as a student intern, volunteered in children’s classes, led Bible studies, and served as a summer camp counselor. She also gained valuable work experience through jobs at HTeaO, Brookshire’s, and babysitting.
Addison Ruiz is graduating from Cooper High School and will attend the University of Arkansas, where she plans to study Interior Design. Throughout high school, she was actively involved in several organizations, including the National Honor Society, DECA, UNICEF, and FCCLA, demonstrating a strong commitment to leadership, service, and professional development.
Gavin McPherson is graduating from Lubbock-Cooper Liberty High School and will continue his baseball career at San Jacinto College in Houston, Texas, where he plans to major in Business. A standout three-sport athlete, Gavin competed in varsity football, baseball, and track throughout high school. In football, he played multiple positions and earned Special Teams MVP honors. In baseball, he was a consistent force as an infielder, earning First Team All-District honors multiple years along with numerous accolades including Offensive MVP awards, All-State recognition, and national honors such as Under Armour and Rawlings All-American selections, while helping lead his team to district, bi-district, area, and regional championships. In track, he excelled as a sprinter, earning district championships in the 100m, qualifying for state, and receiving All-American honors. Gavin is also a member of the National Honor Society and actively involved in Indiana Avenue Baptist Church Youth Group.
