Living Water Filtration

Water drove the history of West Texas, and for Lubbock residents it’s still an important
question. Are we drinking enough? Is our water augmenting our health? It’s easy to rely on
tap water or bottled water for quick and easy solutions—but there’s a better way. This month’s
featured sponsor offers a solution that’s both healthier than tap water and mores sustainable
than bottled. Ruben Gonzales of Living Water Filtration knows how important water is and
offers whole-house filtration systems that bring healthy water to every home.
Living Water Filtration offers whole-house water filters that go a step beyond the majority of
their competitors, Ruben explained: “The Living Water Filtration (LWF) System takes a holistic
approach to water treatment. With this philosophy, we never use salts or chemicals to
condition your water. Instead, our goal is to remove harmful components through advanced
filtration techniques.” We’ll spare you the details—Ruben can explain that when you talk to
him—but the LWF System removes more than 50 different chemical elements from water,
including nano-sized particles that often go undetected in many standard water tests.
Whereas most filtration systems use salts, chlorine, or reverse osmosis, LWF’s advanced
filtration breaks the “natural bonding tension” of the water for a more effective and
sophisticated approach. Ruben explains it thusly: “These methods are similar to using
dynamite to open a bank vault—we simply use the key.”
Originally designed for iron removal and bacteria prevention, Ruben told us that Living Water
Filtration underwent further development for residential use with outstanding results: “Living
Water is smooth-tasting and velvety soft to the touch. Because it is more hydrating—often
referred to as “wetter water”—less soap is needed for cleaning and bathing. For homes
supplied with city water, we add charcoal filters to prevent the enhanced hydration effect from
intensifying chlorine, which would otherwise make it more potent and cause the home to smell
like an indoor swimming pool. These charcoal filters also remove trihalomethanes (THMs)
and PFAS—the so-called “forever chemicals.” THMs, formed when chlorine reacts with
organic matter, are common in tap water and have been linked to various health issues with
long-term exposure.”
As with so many business owners, Ruben became involved with Living Water Filtration when
his home needed a whole-house filter. Concerns about his family’s health and well-being led
him to LWF: “Water conditioning was not on my radar when I first learned about this system
and its inventor. My wife TeriJo and I had just purchased a home and were instantly in the
market for something that would help with the calcium build up we were seeing in our home.
We had already purchased a rather expensive salt system and were not happy with the
results-so buying another salt system came with a lot of hesitation.  Our realtor came across
an article, and shared it with us, about a man in Stephenville, Philip Alford, who had invented
a water filtration system that did not use any salt. The next morning I was sitting in the
gentleman's living room talking about ‘Structured Water’.”
Combining personal and professional experience, Ruben and Living Water Filtration offer
some advice to homeowners in our community: “My best advice to residents is this: You need
to drink the right kind of water. You can drink a pallet of the best labeled water from any
supermarket and your body will still be dehydrated. Dehydration is a huge cause of illnesses.
Also, just because it comes out of the tap clear doesn’t mean it’s clean. You don't have to just
drink water to get it in your body. Our skin is the largest organ so the water we use also

penetrates through our skin. Over time, this can affect your family’s health, your appliances,
and even the way your skin and hair feel. What I want people to know is that you do have
options. You don’t have to settle for the traditional ways of water conditioning like salt
softeners or reverse osmosis. With the right kind of filtration, you can remove the harmful stuff
and keep the natural qualities that make water truly healthy and penetrate your cells keeping
the body hydrated.”

Water is foundational to health, and Ruben Gonzales want to help us all have access to
healthier, cleaner water: “My heartbeat is to help families enjoy the kind of water I have in my
own home—water that’s clean, refreshing, and safe-just one less thing to worry about
regarding your family’s long-term health. That’s what drives me every day, and it’s why Living
Water Filtration exists.” We’re told that installation is fairly simple and that the benefits are
immediate. If you’re tired of paying for bottled water but want a better solution for your
household’s water needs, Ruben and Living Water Filtration have the answer you need.
