Ruby Pearl: The Queen Bee with a Big Heart (and a Taste for Football)
Ruby Pearl—known lovingly as “RP”—didn’t just come into her family’s life by chance. She arrived at exactly the moment she was needed most, carrying with her a sense of timing that still feels a little too perfect to be coincidence.
Named in honor of a beloved grandmother, Ruby Pearl also carries forward another legacy: the memory of Pearl, a cherished 14-year-old boxer who had just said goodbye the very same day Ruby’s story at the shelter began. That unexpected overlap turned a difficult day into something else entirely—a quiet sign that maybe love had found a way to continue.
She was adopted from the LAS in November 2019 at just 9 months old, young, bright, and already full of personality. From the start, Ruby Pearl made it clear she wasn’t just joining the household—she was stepping into it as the self-appointed queen bee.
And she has ruled accordingly.
Smart as can be and endlessly observant, Ruby Pearl has a knack for figuring things out quickly, especially when it involves her people. One of her most endearing quirks is her love of television time. She’ll settle in like a seasoned sports analyst, eyes locked on the screen—football, in particular, has her full attention. Whether she’s tracking the action or simply enjoying the company, it’s her version of quality time.
At home, she’s adored beyond measure. Ames, especially, thinks the world of her, treating Ruby Pearl as if she hung the moon and stars. The feeling seems mutual in the quiet, loyal way dogs often have—less about spectacle, more about presence.
Ruby Pearl may have come into her family during a moment of loss, but what she brought in return has been steady and full: companionship, personality, and the unmistakable feeling that she was always meant to be there.
