Rebecca Tallarico may sound familiar to some of our monthly readers and that's because Rebecca is a monthly content contributor for the Old Village. Rebecca contributes the “Mind Body Soul” and “Feel Good Do Good” articles for the magazine.

 

Bobby grew up in Greenville before moving to Mount Pleasant 30 years ago and then into the Old Village in 1997. Rebecca was born in upstate New York and lived there until the summer of 1993, she then moved to Greenville where she lived for 22 years. Rebecca relocated to Charleston 8 years ago.  

 

Bobby earned his Masters of Architecture and Masters of City and Regional Planning from Clemson University. Rebecca earned her Cosmetology degree in New York as well as an Associate’s Degree in Business. Bobby spent the first part of his career working for several architecture firms in the Charleston area before going into sales.

 

Today, Bobby is currently the Architectural Development Manager for AZEK and Timer Tech, an innovative manufacture of beautiful, low maintenance, and environmentally sustainable outdoor living products.

 

Rebecca has been a hair stylist for over 30 years. She even owned a hair salon and clothing boutique for 17 years before moving to Charleston. Rebecca currently has her own cozy hair salon studio, Beauty Bound, located in Oyster Park in which Rebecca specializes in hair extensions, cutting and coloring, and also offers Makeup & Mentoring services as well as haircare and wellness products.

 

The Tallarico’s live on Klein Street, but Rebecca and Bobby aren't the only ones who live there. They are accompanied by furry friends: Stono a 15 year old yellow lab who recently got his wings, Ella a 13 year old Terrier Mix and a feral cat family who are all spayed and neutered – don’t worry!

 

Bobby has lived on Klein Street since 1997 and Rebecca has lived there for 4 years. Bobby has two sons, Nick and Alex. They were both raised in the Old Village and attended Mount Pleasant Academy, Moultrie Middle School and Wando High School. Nick (25) attended Clemson University, just like his father, and graduated with a degree in Computer Science and currently lives and works in Greenville. Alex (23) studied at the Citadel and is currently working for a local construction company. Alex enjoys working out and especially enjoys surfing and fishing here in Charleston.  

 

Bobby enjoys viewing art and architecture as well as collecting fossils and shark teeth. Rebecca loves to be active whether it’s through working out, doing yoga or even making jewelry. In their free time together Bobby and Rebecca find peace and pleaser riding bikes, boating, spending time at Goldbug Island, fishing, cooking, beach days on Sullivans, walking the dogs and golf carting around the Old Village.

 

Bobby and Rebecca enjoy listening to music, especially local bands. Two of their favorites are Baby Fat and Hans Wenzel. When it comes to TV the two love Modern Family, Marvelous Mrs. Mazel, The Bear, and of course the Clemson Tigers.

  

The Tallarico’s love to cook, one of their favorite family meals to make is seared tuna with ginger, cucumber with dill and local fresh grilled veggies. Bobby and Rebecca prefer to cook and enjoy meals at home but when they go out for a bite they enjoy Xiao Bao Biscuit, Coda Del Pesce, Post House, High Thyme, and Brown Fox coffee.  

 

When asked about their favorite vacation both Bobby and Rebecca replied with their trip to Italy. Bobby used to work and live in Venice when he was younger, so it made the trip so special. They particularly enjoyed the Art Biennale and have many plans to return.

 

Rebecca and Bobby love to be involved in the community. Rebecca, as we know, contributes the monthly “Mind Body Soul” articles as well as “Feel Good Do Good” articles for Stroll Old Village Magazine. Rebecca also has plans to start a Mental Wellness Women’s Coffee Soulful Sips meetup in 2024! Bobby is a member of the East Cooper Outboard Motor Club (ECOMC) located on Goldbug Island. You can often find Bobby judging the charity Turkey Shoot every Thanksgiving.  

 

Bobby and Rebecca love the Old Village because of its historic architecture, charm, friendly neighbors and its close proximity to local Pitt Street shops and Pitt Street bridge, as well to the ocean. The two seem to adore the Old Village and are proud to call it home.
