February 2026

Celebrating Love & Legacy

Dear Old Village,

As we turn the calendar to February, there is a distinct shift in the air here in the Old Village. The days are stretching just a bit longer, and while the winter chill might still linger, the warmth of our community remains as constant as the tides at Shem Creek.

February is a month uniquely centered on connection and reflection. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to celebrate the heart of our neighborhood: the people. In this edition, we are honored to share stories of Old Village families who have built their lives on these streets, reminding us that the love we have for our homes is truly defined by the people we share them with.

This month also marks Black History Month. It is a vital time for us to honor the rich, diverse heritage that has shaped the Lowcountry. The Old Village is a place where history isn't just in books—it’s in our architecture, our live oaks, and the legacies of the families who have lived here for generations. We hope this issue encourages you to reflect on stories that have paved the way for the unique community we enjoy today.

Looking ahead, there is plenty to be excited about:
• Spring Garden Prep: Many of you are already planning your window boxes—we can't wait to see the village in bloom!
• Local Happenings: Keep an eye out for local oyster roasts and porch socials as we make the most of this "low season" together.
• Winter Trips: Several Old Village families travel out west, up north, & overseas to catch ski slopes. Feel free to share your photos with us!

As always, the stories in Stroll Old Village are for and by you. We are constantly inspired by the family milestones and memories you share with us. Whether you’re walking the Pitt Street Bridge or grabbing a coffee on Coleman, I hope you feel the sense of belonging that makes this neighborhood so special.

It takes a Village,
