PJ Vanni
A Passion for Sports and Community

At just 13 years old, PJ Vanni is making a name for himself in both academics and athletics at Ottawa Hills Jr./Sr. High School. Having lived in Ottawa Hills for the past seven years, PJ appreciates the strong sense of opportunity within the community. Whether it’s theater, sports, or academics, he loves that every kid has a chance to shine.
An athlete since childhood, PJ is passionate about football, baseball, and basketball. His favorite part? Making memories with his teammates. While he enjoys all three sports, baseball holds a special place in his heart. Some of his earliest memories involve attending his grandfather’s baseball camp and playing tee-ball—experiences that sparked his love for the game.
One of PJ’s proudest moments in sports was his football team’s incredible 8-0 season, an achievement that he cherishes. His grandfather, who coaches baseball at Ottawa Hills, has significantly influenced his life. PJ admires the way his grandfather encourages every child to try baseball at least once, a philosophy that has impacted many young athletes in the community.
Looking ahead, PJ has big dreams of playing college baseball, a goal he has had since childhood. His dedication to sports, along with his commitment to academics— particularly his love for history—keeps him focused on his aspirations.
When he’s not on the field or in the classroom, PJ enjoys listening to rap music, especially J. Cole, watching his favorite movie, Grown Ups, and following his favorite sports teams—the Cleveland Browns, Guardians, and Cavaliers. His favorite vacation so far has been a trip to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, this past Christmas, a memory he’ll always treasure. And when it comes to food? Orange chicken is at the top of his list.
With his talent, determination, and strong support system, there’s no doubt that PJ Vanni is a rising star in the Ottawa Hills community. Whether on the baseball field or beyond, his future is bright, and we can’t wait to see where his journey takes him next!
