Meet the Levine Family

Adam Levine, Brooke Brown, and their son Chase with Duper, Naxos and Michter!

Adam Levine, Brooke Brown, and their son Chase moved to Ottawa Hills just this past year. Like many parents they were looking for a community where the schools were top notch and knew the reputation of Ottawa Hills Schools. Chase started sixth grade this past fall, 2024.

Adam and Brooke could not be happier with the school and with the community. “Because we felt a sense of urgency getting into a house before this school year, we were looking to find things that weren’t listed yet. When we read about Greg Postel’s departure from UT, we reached out and worked out a deal directly to move into our current house.”

Brooke and Adam met online in 2015. After nine years of dating, they married in Montreal this past August. Adam Levine grew up in New York City, graduating from Horace Mann College Preparatory School in 2004. He enrolled at Dartmouth College and earned BA’s in Anthropology, Art History and Applied Math. He then attended the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, earning his master’s degree and his PhD, both in Art History.

Adam has had numerous opportunities to use his degrees in Art History, from a Collections Management Assistant for the Greek and Roman Department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, to co-founder and CEO of Art Research Technologies (New York, New York), to the Deputy Director and Curator of Ancient Art at the Toledo Museum of Art. In 2018, he moved from Toledo to Jacksonville, Florida to become the George W. and Kathleen I. Gibbs Director and CEO of the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens.

In 2020 Adam returned to the Toledo Museum of Art as the Edward Drummond and Florence Scott Libbey President, Director and CEO.

Brook grew up in the area, graduating from Perrysburg High School in 2005. She earned an associate degree in Surgical Technology from Owens Community College and followed that with a Biology (Pre-Dental) degree from the University of Toledo. Brooke worked as a surgical assistant for Western Lake Erie Oral Surgeons for over 10 years, but her passion for helping others moved her into the arena of volunteerism where she worked for organizations like CASA (court appointed special advocates), and the YWCA. She realized her true calling, which is to help young people, and is now the Associate Director of Admissions at Lourdes University where she, “is excited to be launching a first-generation program as part of her work.”

Chase, who is in sixth grade at Ottawa Hills, loves to be outside. He enjoys building and fixing things, riding motorbikes and dirt bikes, playing FNA flag football, and basketball. You can also find him in the swimming pool in the summer, a sign that he is particularly fond of the family’s beach vacations.

Being a busy family, Adam, Brooke and Chase use much of their spare time to travel, including beach vacations in the summer. "We also love spending time with family and friends, and we’re fortunate Brooke’s family is all still in the area." During downtime, they love to attend Walleye games and eat at local restaurants. "When we have the rare night or weekend without anything, we love being lazy with the dogs, but also…love exploring new places.”

When asked about living in Ottawa Hills Brook and Adam love the fact that people genuinely care about each other. “Probably our favorite thing thus far has been realizing Chase can come home for lunch during the school day. He does this most days—sometimes with friends, sometimes not—but it lets him recharge. It...is only possible because of the sense of responsibility the school cultivates and the neighborhood's safety; Chase’s ability to come home, in other words, is only possible because of some of the things that make Ottawa Hills so special.”
