Ambiance and Setting
Didi’s Downtown emphasizes community and it is mutually displayed in their atmosphere. Their beautiful patio is a joyous place to be, serving as a place for family and friends to gather. Their interior features a modern rustic feel, and the color palette seems to include greys and green tones. There are warm wood accents everywhere with lots of hometown classic Texan paintings and pictures on the walls. I absolutely love their outdoor patio, especially when there is live music on the little stage they have.  I think the feel of the interior is just so welcoming, it seems to bring me a wave of nostalgia  from just stepping in there. I do strongly believe that their goal was to create a perfect small town vibe for a restaurant, and I also believe that they have achieved that goal.

Food and Presentation
If I could describe their food in a short, brief description, it would be funky comfort food. I’ll pick up the menu, see a classic dish, and look closer to find an even cooler take on the dish. Their Head Chef, Scott Hoffner, is what I'd like to call a culinary genius. Some of my favorite dishes include Buffalo Style Fried Cauliflower, The Orient Express Salad (which includes General Tso’s chicken with a perfect wasabi dressing- it’s seriously the best salad I've ever tasted), Gyro, and the Tuna On Fire. Their menu offers a wide range of burgers, salads, perfect appetizers, and more. There's something for everyone on this menu. Each singular dish feels like it's made with intention, which is something rare to find. The portions are large, so you're getting enough food for the price point. You can easily share any of these dishes, which is what my mother and I frequently do when we eat here.

Service and Staff
Sure, food is what we come to a restaurant for, but it's the service that keeps us coming back time and time again. The wait staff, hostesses, and chefs are what make Didi’s Downtown complete. One of the waitresses I've had on multiple occasions is Rebecca. Everytime I come I glance around to find her, but chances are she's already spotted me. Every single waitress and waiter is so kind as well as respectful. They give you that hometown feel the minute you walk in to dine. They like to talk to you and get to know you! It feels so nice everytime I eat here because I know that with my food, it also includes great service. The kitchen staff is efficient and the food they create is always great. I think what stands out to me the most is professionalism and friendliness. They demonstrate strong knowledge of the menu, and it’s such a great experience. During busier periods, they still manage to keep the food flowing out and the fun still exists. While Scott is the Head Chef, I do appreciate that he takes time to talk to each and every family and person in the restaurant. Scott ties together the smalltown friendly atmosphere the restaurant promises.

Final Impression
For my final opinion on Didi’s, I’d like to point out their resilience. For those of you who know, there has been ongoing construction on Downtown Frisco for quite some time, with construction beginning in July 2024. This in turn has caused many disadvantages for small businesses, including parking issues, lack of space, and a decrease in people. While many businesses closed down due to this, Didi’s remained open and thriving. Their restaurant is a large supporter of the #SAVEMAIN campaign. Each and every business is being affected by construction, so my last message and takeaway to have is to support Main Street Frisco!
