Meet Wilson!

Meet Wilson. Wilson is the last pup in the McCormick pack! He is a nine year old Purebreed Silver Lab Retriever. Dogs who are waiting to get fostered go into boarding. Wilson had already boarded for a couple of weeks and couldn’t find a family due to that time of year. Lauren decided she could help out and volunteered. Wilson was immediately friendly and super sweet, she knew he’d be a special dog.

Wilson is his original name, though, in the family he is known as the “Million Dollar dog.” Wilson was a well rounded dog and Lauren knew he’d get adopted quickly. Before she started the journey of finding a family, she had noticed a growth on his stomach and decided to get it checked out. He was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor and wasn’t guaranteed to not get more. The McCormicks quickly elected themselves to be his family so they could fulfill his medical needs. To this day, Wilson has had 7 mast cell tumors removed and 3 more to be done!

The family has never been able to take down his crate because he loves hiding stuff in there. “He steals clothes, shoes, pillows, blankets, towels, kitchen forks and knives, sticks of butter and pretty much anything he can get his mouth around and that is in his reach.” Lauren says. One time, Wilson had to get his stomach pumped at the vet because he got a hold of an oatmeal raisin cookie that was sealed away in a Tupperware container.

Wilson loves to chase birds, bunnies and rabbits all over the backyard. He also loves to walk in the neighborhood and smell everything along the way. Wilson may be expensive, but he has such a goofy personality and loves snuggling with anybody in sight, the family has never regretted adopting him.
