The Sapaula Family: Faith, Leadership, and Community in Frisco
When Matt and Sheena Sapaula relocated from Naperville, Illinois, to Texas in 2021, they were seeking more than just warmer weather. They were looking for opportunity, growth, and a community that reflected their values. Drawn by Texas’s welcoming atmosphere and entrepreneurial energy, they settled in Frisco’s Starwood neighborhood, where they quickly became a vibrant part of the community.
A Family Rooted in Faith and Purpose
Matt and Sheena are proud parents to two sons: JoeJoe, 15, and Jordan, 6. JoeJoe is a freshman at Prince of Peace Christian School, where he shines as a multisport athlete in football, basketball, and track, earning a spot as a freshman starter on the varsity football team. His drive and discipline mirror his parents’ work ethic and leadership.
Jordan, the youngest, already displays a passion for martial arts. He recently earned his blue belt in jiu jitsu and is determined to achieve his purple. When he is not training, Jordan loves exploring his fascination with sea creatures, swimming, and spending time with his cousin, SJ.
The family’s faith is the cornerstone of their lives. They attend Elevate Life Church in Frisco, led by Pastor Keith Craft, and credit their spiritual foundation for guiding their family, business, and community involvement.
From the Marines to Mentorship
Matt Sapaula’s journey began with a call to serve. Enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps at just 17, he completed two deployments during the 1990s: Operation Southern Watch in the Middle East and Operation Restore Hope in Somalia, Africa. As a helicopter crew chief and door gunner with the 15th and 31st Marine Expeditionary Units (Special Operations Capable), Matt served eight years on active duty and three years in the Illinois National Guard, earning the rank of Sergeant.
After his military service, Matt transitioned into the financial services industry, building a business that began as a one-man operation and grew to more than 5,000 agents nationwide. His company now has key offices across seven states, with headquarters in Carrollton and plans to relocate to Plano or Frisco.
Matt’s leadership and entrepreneurial success led to his involvement with Integrity Marketing Group, the largest privately held company in Texas. He is also the creator and host of the 7 Figure Squad YouTube channel, where he inspires over 360,000 subscribers through content focused on faith, finance, and leadership. His social media reach extends to more than 380,000 followers on Instagram.
Locally, Matt hosts Cigars, Wealth, and Whiskey, an exclusive quarterly mastermind and networking event designed to connect Dallas area residents through meaningful relationships and opportunities. He is also an invite only APEX member of Industrial Cigar Company and a member of the Cowboys Club.
From the Field to the Boardroom
Before joining forces with Matt, Sheena Sapaula was a standout athlete and accomplished professional in the medical industry. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, she majored in marketing and finance while attending on a full ride softball scholarship. Her high school inducted her into its Hall of Fame, and her records at Pitt remain unbroken to this day.
Sheena’s corporate career began with Stryker, where she sold hospital beds to Chicago area hospitals. Fate intervened when she met Matt at Stroger Hospital, where he was conducting a financial workshop during Nurses’ Week—an encounter that would change both their lives.
Eventually, Sheena transitioned from corporate America to the family business, where she now plays a crucial leadership role in operations, training, and mentorship. Her ability to systematize growth and streamline training has been instrumental in scaling the organization.
A Spirit of Community and Giving
The Sapaulas' believe in the power of connection. Through their work in financial education and entrepreneurship, they have built meaningful relationships with families and business owners across North Texas. Their local office hosts an annual Pink Party for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, bringing people together in support of a worthy cause.
Beyond business, the family regularly participates in community events and philanthropic activities throughout Frisco. They especially enjoy attending events at The Star and those organized within Starwood, where they have found a genuine sense of belonging.
Life in Frisco
For the Sapaulas, life in Frisco feels like a blessing. Coming from humble, multicultural roots, they often reflect on how grateful they are for where faith has led them. Even their home in Starwood came through what they describe as divine timing, the result of a backup offer that unexpectedly became available.
“We pinch ourselves every time we drive through the guarded gates,” they often say. The family loves exploring Texas’s diverse dining scene, especially Korean BBQ, and often celebrates special occasions with travel adventures, from Thanksgiving in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, to Christmas in the Bahamas.
Looking Ahead
As Frisco continues to grow and evolve, the Sapaulas are excited to grow alongside it, nurturing their business, deepening their community roots, and raising their sons with strong values of faith, leadership, and service.
Their story is one of dedication, purpose, and gratitude, a reminder that with faith and family at the center, anything is possible.
