The Besefki Family
Ari and Uya Besefki are the proud parents of two children, Sean, 17, and Valentina, 12, and have been happily married for 19 years. Rooted in faith, education, creativity, and service, the Besefki family values a life defined by purpose, connection, and shared responsibility. As a bilingual household, they actively embrace culture and community, enriching both their family life and the broader world around them.
The Besefki family has called Starwood home for the past eight years, drawn by its strong educational system, welcoming atmosphere, and authentic sense of community. What began as a move inspired by opportunity soon evolved into a place where they chose to establish lasting roots. Over time, Starwood has proven to be an ideal environment for raising a family and fostering meaningful relationships.
Education is a central priority in the Besefki household, and Ari and Uya consistently model the values of learning, discipline, and personal growth for their children. This commitment extends into their professional lives as well. Together, they own and operate Opportune Commercial Real Estate, where they specialize in identifying exceptional investment opportunities for their clients. They take pride in guiding individuals and organizations toward informed, long-term decisions while cultivating enduring professional relationships.
Ari and Uya met through shared connections and quickly formed a bond rooted in mutual values, a deep appreciation for family, and a shared vision for the future they sought to build together. These principles are clearly reflected in their children. Sean is a senior at Frisco High School and concurrently attends the University of North Texas, balancing academic rigor with creativity and leadership. An accomplished musician and songwriter, he has released several original compositions available on all major streaming platforms. He also serves on the worship team at Preston Trail, an experience that has contributed significantly to his personal and spiritual development. Sean performs guitar and vocals on Thursday evenings at Crudo, an Italian restaurant adjacent to Starwood. He plans to pursue law school and engage actively in civic leadership.
Valentina, a seventh-grade student at Hunt Middle School, brings enthusiasm and determination to all her endeavors. A dedicated volleyball athlete, she devotes much of her time to training and competition. She is also a gifted singer and performer and was recently recognized for her portrayal of Regina George in Mean Girls at Hunt Middle School, a performance that was a source of great pride for her family. Completing the Besefki household is Muffin, their beloved Bichon Frise–Maltese mix, a rescue from Louisiana who recently celebrated her 12th birthday.
Music, leadership, athletics, and performance are integral to daily life in the Besefki family. Ari and Uya are deeply committed to encouraging their children to pursue their interests while remaining grounded in strong values. One of their most cherished traditions is an annual family trip to Beaver Creek, where the children enjoy snowboarding while Ari and Uya relax in the hot tubs, taking in the mountain scenery.
Among their fondest memories in Starwood are evenings spent trick-or-treating throughout the neighborhood, walking its familiar streets, greeting neighbors, and participating in the shared moments that reflect the community’s warmth and close-knit spirit. What they value most about life in Starwood is the genuine sense of belonging—a community where neighbors care for one another and take pride in their surroundings. When asked to recommend local establishments, the Besefkis consistently highlight Rockstars of Tomorrow, where Sean and Valentina study music & vocals and Crudo, both located adjacent to Starwood.
