The Myers Family: Building Community and Creating Memories
Daniel and Sadie Myers have built a life centered around family, community, and shared experiences. Together with their daughter Sophie Jo and their beloved dog Chewy, the Myers family has become an active and welcoming part of the neighborhood since moving to Starwood in October 2020.
Daniel, 36, grew up in Plano, Texas, while Sadie, 34, is originally from Camas, Washington. Before settling in North Texas, the couple spent five years living in San Francisco. In 2020, they decided to return to the Dallas–Fort Worth area to raise their family in a welcoming, family-friendly community close to Daniel’s roots. Their daughter, Sophie Jo, now four years old, was born in DFW and is growing up surrounded by neighbors who feel more like extended family.
Both Daniel and Sadie have built impressive professional careers. Sadie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington State University and has spent more than nine years as an Account Executive at Cisco, where she works with state and local government customers across Texas. Daniel attended the University of Texas at Dallas, earning his undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering and later completing his MBA there as well. His career spans building startups and working in engineering roles at companies such as Cisco and Google. Today, he serves as the Global Director of Developer Relations at Snowflake.
At home, the Myers family stays busy with the joyful energy that comes with raising a young child. Sophie Jo attends St. Philips Preschool and enjoys a variety of activities, including ballet and classes at iCODE. She is full of personality and imagination, spending her days dancing, singing, swimming, and embracing her favorite role of all—being a princess.
The family’s first “baby,” Chewy, is a nine-year-old mini goldendoodle who has become a familiar face around the neighborhood. Chewy loves greeting neighbors, chasing bunnies in the backyard, and soaking up as much attention as possible from anyone willing to give him a few extra pets.
Travel has always been a shared passion for Daniel and Sadie. Over the years, they have explored destinations across the globe, including Kruger National Park in South Africa, Portugal, Hawaii, Seoul, Tokyo, Beijing, Mumbai, Sydney, and Auckland. These adventures have created lasting memories and a love of experiencing different cultures together. Closer to home, Daniel also enjoys keeping up with technology trends and investing in real estate.
Family traditions are an important part of the Myers household. One of their favorite celebrations each year is hosting Thanksgiving, bringing friends and family together around the table. The Myers also believe in celebrating both big milestones and the small everyday moments that make life meaningful.
Around the community, the family enjoys visiting several local favorites. Dining at Gallo Nero and Didi’s is always a treat, and weekend trips to the Frisco Farmers Market are a regular outing. When the weather is nice, you can often find them spending time at Hope Park.
Community involvement is another important value for the Myers family. Daniel serves as an alternate village representative and formerly served on the ad hoc amenities committee. He also gives back by mentoring students in the University of Texas at Dallas MBA program. Sadie plays an active role on the neighborhood activities committee and helps organize community gatherings such as the Stewart’s Crossing Cinco de Mayo and Halloween block parties. Daniel also enjoys attending Stuart’s Crossing poker nights with neighbors.
Some of the Myers family’s favorite neighborhood memories come from simple, spontaneous moments shared with those around them. From impromptu play sessions on the street to sledding down the hill on rare Texas snow days, their days are often filled with sidewalk chalk drawings, laughter, and the excitement of the annual neighborhood Halloween party.
For the Myers family, the greatest joy of living in the neighborhood is the sense of connection. They appreciate the way neighbors support one another and look out for each other, creating a place where families can grow and friendships can flourish. It is this strong sense of community that makes the neighborhood feel truly like home.
