Meet Barney and Belle!

Meet Barney and Belle. Barney and Belle are two Great Pyrenees pups who live with Richard and Traci Parker. After losing their previous dog, Birdie, in December, they went back to the same rescue and adopted Belle just a few days before Christmas. Because of the timing, they thought the name Belle was fitting– like “Jingle Bell”. About a month later, they decided to adopt a playmate for her from the same organization. Though, Barney had been previously fostered and was already used to his name, they decided to keep it. Looks like the Parker family has a thing for names starting with B!

Like most Great Pyrenees, Barney and Belle both have strong guardian instincts. Whenever they are introduced to a new area, they immediately walk the perimeter and scout the space. Even at home when laying out in the yard, they always make sure they can see the door clearly. Despite their protective nature, they are incredibly friendly and very gentle dogs. They both love to play with each other all the time and especially with the family’s 6 grandchildren. However , sometimes indoor play can get a bit out of hand which can include occasionally shifting the furniture. Walks are also still a work in progress. Both dogs are both very strong and absolutely love to pull on the leashes.

Barney and Belle may be tough and strong, but they are the fluffiest, most loving dogs. No matter the kind of day you’ve had, you can always count on them to meet you with wagging tails. From morning cuddles to chaos in the living room they are definitely keeping the Parker’s on their toes.
