The Agarwal Family
The Agarwal family is embracing life in Starwood and enjoying everything their new neighborhood has to offer. Ruchin and Bhavna Agarwal, along with their daughters, Vartika, 17, and Vani, 14, moved to the community in August 2025 after living in Frisco since 2012. Although they already loved calling Frisco home, they had always wanted to move into Starwood because of its beautiful surroundings, scenic walking trails, and welcoming atmosphere. They say moving into the neighborhood has truly taken their Frisco experience to the next level.
Originally from India, Ruchin and Bhavna married before moving to the United States in late 2002. They have since built a life together that has taken them from Washington, D.C., Virginia, Rochester, New York, New Jersey, and California before finally settling in the Dallas area in 2008. Their parents still live in India, and the family treasures every opportunity to stay connected by visiting one another whenever possible.
Education has always been an important part of their journey. Ruchin earned degrees in engineering, and an MBA in International Business, while Bhavna studied arts and went on to earn degrees in Interior Design and Small Business Management, along with a Paralegal Certification.
Professionally, both have built successful careers. Ruchin is an advisory Partner at one of the big four audit and consulting firms called PricewaterhouseCoopers, where his work takes him across the United States. Bhavna has been an entrepreneur and owned two Young Chefs Academy locations. She now combines her love of travel with her work as an independent luxury travel advisor, creating unforgettable vacations for clients across the country. She also works as a paralegal at an immigration law firm based in Richardson.
The couple's daughters are equally driven and full of personality. Vartika is a senior at Frisco High School with plans to pursue a career in medicine, hoping to specialize in dermatology. She enjoys spending time with young children, traveling with her family, being outdoors, and making memories with friends. Vani, a freshman at Frisco High School, has inherited her mother's creative spirit. She is passionate about music and earned a spot in the school's top marching band as a freshman, an impressive accomplishment. She has also played club volleyball and was a member of her middle school volleyball team. Between band, sports, and frequent sleepovers with friends, Vani brings plenty of energy wherever she goes. Together, both girls enjoy swimming, and as a family they love music, movies, and traveling.
Each family member brings unique interests to the household. Ruchin is a sports fan who rarely misses a game, whether it is football, basketball, tennis, cricket, soccer or nearly any other sport. During the FIFA World Cup, he famously stayed up through the night watching matches even while traveling to India to visit family. He also discovered a passion for creating craft cocktails during the pandemic and enjoys mixing new recipes for friends. Bhavna loves baking and creating desserts, a passion that grew during the six years she owned Young Chefs Academy locations in Frisco and Allen before selling the business last summer. Vartika has a remarkable ability to connect with young children, while Vani's enthusiasm and vibrant personality keep everyone around her smiling.
Celebrating both Indian traditions and American holidays is an important part of family life. Although both daughters were born in the United States, Ruchin and Bhavna have worked to share their Indian heritage with them. Every year they look forward to celebrating Navratri with Garba and Dandiya dancing, visiting temples, and marking Diwali, the Festival of Lights. Once October arrives, the family eagerly embraces the entire holiday season, enjoying Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's celebrations alongside their cultural traditions. They decorate their home, prepare homemade treats to share, and welcome family and friends for gatherings where the table is always filled with delicious food.
When they are not traveling, the Agarwals enjoy discovering new restaurants, coffee shops, lounges, and entertainment around Frisco. Their perfect day often includes spending time with close friends, enjoying a great meal, and ending with a movie. During the holidays, they especially enjoy visiting festive destinations such as Legacy West, The Shops at Legacy, Stonebriar, Deerfield, and the popular ICE! exhibit at the Gaylord Texan. Travel remains one of the family's greatest passions, with plans each year for one international vacation and a few domestic getaways.
Although they are still relatively new to Starwood, the family is excited to become more involved in the neighborhood. Bhavna hopes to join the community's Social Committee and has a long history of volunteering. She has served with the PTA and Booster Club, including as President of the School Band Booster Board. She is also an alumna of Frisco ISD's Insight Program and has actively supported local civic and school board election campaigns while participating in numerous community events.
So far, one of the family's favorite pastimes in Starwood is simply strolling through the neighborhood, admiring the beautiful homes and landscaping during evenings and weekends. Ruchin and Vani also enjoy working out together at the neighborhood gym. As they continue settling into the community, the Agarwal family looks forward to building new friendships, participating in neighborhood events, and sharing their warm hospitality with neighbors for many years to come.
