The red carpet practically rolls out when this dog goes on her neighborhood walk. Macy isn’t just Morgan and Zack’s dog; she’s a Palos celebrity. Whether she’s perched on her favorite Palmer Park bench watching the world go by or lying down on the street to greet every dog, Macy has built quite a fan club. Adopted by Morgan Wells and Zak Bulthuis from Anti-Cruelty in January 2019, Macy quickly became more than a family pet. Morgan jokes that Macy has more friends than they do, and it is not uncommon to hear children and others excitedly yell “Macy!” and run over to say hello.

Of course, Macy would not be known for her friendly demeanor and sweet personality if not for all the love she receives from Morgan and Zack. At home, she enjoys cuddling under warm blankets fresh from the dryer, playing with one of her 200 toys, or enjoying a treat from the section in their pantry specifically dedicated to them. Macy even has her own closet, complete with holiday costumes, like Santa Claus, sports jerseys for all their favorite teams, and a “Doggy Parton” ensemble for Halloween. Through life’s highs and lows, Macy has been a loyal companion and source of joy. 

“She’s our best friend, our baby, and our whole world,” Morgan said, and it is safe to say that the people in Palos would agree with her.
