Little Seals Swim School Kentucky
In Persimmon Ridge, neighbors are looking out for one another and for Molly Brooks, that care extends to the water.
Molly is the owner and instructor behind Little Seals Swim School Kentucky, where she has spent the past 15 years teaching children essential, life saving water skills. What started as a personal experience having her own children trained in self rescue swimming quickly became a passion and a calling. Molly shares that she fell in love with the concept, especially knowing that drowning is the leading cause of accidental death among children ages one to four.
Through her program, Molly teaches infants and young children how to roll onto their backs, float, rest, and breathe until help arrives. These are skills that can make all the difference in an emergency. She also emphasizes important water safety facts that many families may not realize. Drowning is often quick and silent and can happen in as little as 20 to 60 seconds. It most commonly occurs during non swim times when a child has wandered near water unnoticed. In many cases, adults are nearby but distractions play a role, which is why constant, focused supervision is so important.
As a one woman business, Molly works closely with each child, offering personalized instruction in a calm and supportive environment. Her goal is not only to teach life saving skills, but also to build confidence for both children and their families.
Molly and her family have called Persimmon Ridge home for the past four years. She and her husband Jamie, who works in law enforcement, have been married for 23 years and share four children. Their family is growing as well with another grandchild on the way, making her mission even more meaningful.
When asked what advice she would share with neighbors, her message is simple and critical. Always keep constant eyes on children around water. Swim lessons, barriers, and awareness all work together to create safer environments.
Through Little Seals Swim School, Molly is not just teaching swim lessons. She is helping protect what matters most in our community.
