Meet the Fombad Family
Antoinette and Jerry are Cameroonian-born natives who moved to the United States in the early 2000’s. They met in Oklahoma, where both were attending college, then moved to Texas in 2014 when Muzaga was born. “We are grateful for each day and hope to continue building our community here in Frisco.” They found their home in Phillips Creek Ranch. “We moved here in 2018 and love how family oriented and safe the area is. The schools are amazing with great resources for special needs which has significantly helped our son thrive.”
Antoinette Njombua Fombad and her husband, Jerry Fombad are parents to four children. “We would like to encourage all those in blended families or who have doubts [regarding a blended family]. It hasn’t always been easy but when the foundation is built on kindness, compassion, and good intentions, your blended family can weather through like ours has for the past 15 years,” says Antoinette. The Fombads have a kid in every school level! The family’s oldest child, Nzinga Thompson, is currently a college freshman. Following Nzinga is high school freshman, Nyla Fombad. Azah is their middle-schooler who attends Pioneer Heritage Middle School and their fourth grader, Muzaga, goes to Vaugn Elementary. Mom and dad both have full careers with many hats. Antoinette works as a registered nurse, realtor, personal development coach and writer. While Jerry is an occupational therapist and owner of JF Event Rentals, who is also a partner of Stroll Phillips Creek Ranch! You can see their ad on page XX this month.
The Fombads love to watch movies together, especially outside in the pergola. Marvel movies and the Dune movie are their all- time favorites. They enjoy a good game of tennis and home-cooked dinner with friends. Antoinette and the family support their daughter’s love for soccer by coaching and volunteering for the Frisco Soccer Association junior league. When they are too busy for a dinner at home, the family likes to try new restaurants. Toulouse has become their favorite place to dine out.
Special family time includes music! “Afro-beats has to be our most played lists but we are music lovers in general and enjoy a variety of genres.” However, both parents are big fans of the boys’ piano pieces and the girls’ school bands. Music is part of their family tradition. “We have a Christmas tree party every year after Thanksgiving where we dress up in pajamas, dance to Christmas music while putting up the tree.” They make it extra memorable by having a family member put up the Christmas tree star. We hope the Fombads will continue to create extra special memories and traditions here in Phillips Creek Ranch.
