We didn’t plan to feature another Stroll Pinnacle team pup quite so soon. After all, our Boston Terrier puppy Lucy just made her adorable debut in last month’s issue. But when Odin Crosser caught wind of Lucy’s moment in the spotlight, he was clearly a little jealous.

Truth be told, Odin was actually supposed to have his big moment last May for his birthday. But when a resident dog needed the space in the issue, Odin graciously stepped aside. This spring, we’re finally giving this lovable French Bulldog the attention he deserves and sending him an early happy birthday as he prepares to celebrate another year of adventures this May.

Odin, a five-year-old French Bulldog born September 1, 2019, almost had a very different name. If one member of the family had their way, he would have been called Waffles. In the end, the family compromised on Odin, a name inspired by their Norse family ties and one that fits his bold little personality perfectly.

Though he carries a powerful name, Odin is surprisingly quiet. In more than five years, his family has heard him bark fewer than thirty times. Instead of announcing himself loudly, he lets his personality do all the talking.

Odin lives near a nature preserve where outdoor adventures are part of daily life. His favorite activity is heading out on the deer trails with his family, happily exploring every path and turn along the way.

Over time, Odin has become something of a neighborhood celebrity. As he and his mom walk the trails, it’s common to hear someone call out “Hi, Odin!” from thirty feet away. Many trail regulars even keep treats ready for him. If he happens to miss a walk, people are quick to ask where he is before asking how his human is doing.

A Social Pup with a Few Special Friends

Back in the neighborhood, Odin has two very special lady friends who always make his day.

Zoey, a golden retriever a few houses down, announces Odin’s arrival with enthusiastic barking every time he walks by. Then there’s Penelope, the beloved grand-dog of another neighbor. 

Whenever Penelope and Odin see each other, the excitement is mutual and immediate.

Odin may be small, but he certainly knows how to make friends wherever he goes.

The Little Dog with the Big Personality

Ask the kids in the family to describe Odin, and you’ll quickly get a sense of his charming and slightly eccentric personality.

His human sister Lilly describes him as silly, lazy, oblivious, and happy. She says he may be a small dog, but he has a lot of personality packed into that little Frenchie body. Above all, he’s a lover boy who absolutely adores his mom.

Cousin Isabelle calls him adorable, outgoing, and handsome, which anyone who has met Odin would agree with instantly.

Cousin Luke says simply that Odin is eccentric, which may be the perfect one-word summary.

And cousin Lina adds that Odin is completely “velcroed” to his mother, Emily. During one visit when there was a tornado threat, Odin remained blissfully unconcerned, happily running around and ready to play while everyone else kept an eye on the weather. Later, once the excitement passed, he could be found doing what he does best: lounging like a couch potato and refusing to move an inch… unless snacks appear.

When it comes to Odin’s favorite things, the list is simple but very important.

Pup cups and peanut butter make him a very happy boy. Squeaky toys are always a hit. Trips to Starbucks or Scooters are exciting adventures. And cool weather paired with a good hike with his family is pretty much his version of a perfect day.

Of course, he’s also a frequent visitor to Stroll Pinnacle Headquarters, where he always brings smiles, laughs, and a little extra joy to the team.

While his official birthday isn’t until May, we couldn’t wait any longer to celebrate Odin Crosser and the happiness he brings to everyone around him.

From trail adventures to neighborhood friendships to cozy couch naps, Odin lives life with a carefree spirit that makes every day a little brighter.
