The Vibrant, Intuitive Art of Kyle Hollingsworth

Nestled among the mountains, wildlife, and sweeping vistas of Placitas, artist M. Kyle Hollingsworth has found a sanctuary where beauty, stillness, and expansive views fuel her creative spirit. After a successful and rich life in Los Angeles working as a Creative Director for illustration and design, Kyle now devotes her days fully to her first loves, painting, fine art, and singing. “The energy here is magical,” she says. “I spend five to eight hours a day in my studio and love every minute.”
Kyle has been compelled to create since age three, a passion that has guided her through art school and a thriving creative career in film, television, print, and digital. Yet it’s here, in her quiet desert studio, that her work has truly bloomed over the past three years. Her paintings are complex, layered, and deeply textured, blending acrylics, oils, wax, collage, and even natural materials like feathers, bones, and seed pods into colorful and detailed compositions.
Her art is abstract and representative, often revolving around wildlife and especially birds,a motif she returns to frequently,as well as recurring circles that symbolize unity and energy. “They’re everywhere in nature,” she explains, “and for me, they bring movement, connection, and flow.” That flow is something Kyle channels in her process itself: music playing, body moving, intuition guiding each brushstroke.
One of her most memorable experiences came early in her career when she was invited to create a 10‑foot mural for a three‑day peace conference in Atlanta, hosted by the late President Jimmy Carter. “It was an honor of my life,” she recalls, describing the collaborative piece as a visual map of global ideas for peace.
Kyle’s art is both vivid and deeply personal, shaped by resilience and introspection. She has lived a remarkable life, rising from many challenges. Living with CPTSD, Autism, ADHD, and anxiety has made creativity both a refuge and a revelation. Through her podcast, Courageous AF, she shares her story openly, encouraging others to embrace self‑expression as healing. “Art keeps me going,” she says. “It’s all about play, freedom, and finding peace. I believe we need to share our stories, our creations, as a way of healing ourselves and the world.”
After 15 years of her own healing journey, Kyle supports others in theirs. She teaches workshops and hosts retreats where she helps other women to build community, find their own truth, their voice, and to express themselves fully.
Locally, Kyle’s work has graced the cover of the 2026 Placitas Studio Tour brochure and the walls of Albuquerque’s Sunport, as well as several local galleries. Her art is in the homes of many collectors in the US and abroad. Kyle’s mission remains simple yet profound: to spark joy, color, and inspiration in those who experience her art, her voice, and her guidance. As a singer/songwriter, she also loves to perform and to help others to find their own vocal freedom.
Kyle lives in Placitas with her husband and musical partner, Toby, and their two pups Scout & Foggy.
