Gizmo: The Twelve Pound Social Shih Tzu

Meet the "paws-itively" playful addition to the family.

If you’ve ever seen a friendly pup making the rounds and stopping to say hello to just about every dog in sight, you’ve probably met Gizmo, affectionately known as “G-Money” at home. Adopted as a puppy five years ago, Gizmo quickly won over his family with his playful spirit and natural social charm.
From the very beginning, Gizmo showed that he was meant to be a part of the family. His easygoing personality and love for interaction made the transition seamless, and it didn’t take long for him to become a beloved companion.
These days, Gizmo’s favorite part of his routine is his daily walks. For him, it’s less about the walk itself and more about who he might meet along the way. He happily stops multiple times to check in on the neighborhood dogs, always eager for a quick hello or a new friend. Of course, no outing would be complete without plenty of sniffing; his way of keeping up with all the latest “neighborhood news.”
Gizmo’s nickname, “G-Money,” comes with a bit of humor and a lot of love. While he may carry himself like a VIP, his ongoing battle with allergies has made regular visits to the allergist part of his routine. Through it all, he takes it in stride, proving that even high-maintenance pups can keep a great attitude.
At home, Gizmo has developed a bit of a mischievous reputation. He’s a self-proclaimed expert at “borrowing” items, especially his mom’s shoes and anything else he can sneak away with. His talent for turning everyday objects into his own personal treasures keeps his family on their toes and adds a dose of laughter to daily life.
When asked about his favorite things, Gizmo had plenty to say:
Favorite activity?
“Walking the neighborhood and checking in on all my friends.”
Favorite hobby at home?
“Collecting shoes… I mean, borrowing them.”
Favorite Person? "My Groomer....I love her, wait... will my mom read this?" Yes Gizmo.... "OK- My mom, yes! My mom indeed."
Favorite Treat? "My chicken flavored bone-shaped cookies. I have some under her bed, but I don't like to share."
Least favorite thing?
“Probably allergy appointments—but I handle them like a pro.”
Best personality trait?
“Being everyone’s friend. I’ve never met a stranger.”
Through every walk, every playful moment, and every stolen shoe, Gizmo continues to bring joy and personality into his home. His friendly nature, resilience, and sense of humor make him a standout in the neighborhood; and a perfect example of what makes our pets so special.
So, if you see Gizmo out and about, don’t be surprised if he stops to say hello. After all, making friends is just part of his daily routine especially if they are a furry fellow.
