Meet Maggie!
Paws, Prayers, and Playtime: A Granddog’s Life with Chad and Mary Riley
Chad and Mary Riley of Highland Meadows are the lucky pair who get to spend regular time with their beloved granddog, Maggie. Mary sums it up with a straightforward sentence, "We just love her to pieces!" Now, let's hear from Maggie herself:
Hi, I'm Maggie, a lovable, mid-size Goldendoodle with a big personality! My human is Mason Riley, but one of my favorite things in the whole world is visiting my grandparents, Chad and Mary Riley, in Highland Meadows. They spoil me with attention and even let me stay overnight sometimes!
Now, I'll admit—I have a mischievous side. Even though I know it's wrong, I can't help but sneak Mason's socks right out of the hamper. It's my little guilty pleasure! And don't get me started on my arch nemesis, Margo, the neighbor's dog who refuses to play with me. If anyone dares to pet her instead of me, I make sure they hear my protest with barks and a good whine.
My absolute favorite thing to do is play with my squeaky toys, especially when someone's on the phone (perfect timing, right?). My go-to toys are my stuffed moose and stuffed ice cream cone—they're the best! I even trained my grandma to play hide and seek with me, and let's be honest, she's become quite skilled at it.
When it comes to cuddles, I love belly rubs or getting scratched behind my floppy ears. My perfect day? Easy: play with my toy, nap, run around outside, nap again, get a treat... and then yep, another nap. I also have a couple of special tricks—before each meal, I say my prayers, and if someone says "bang," I dramatically drop like I've been shot!
The only thing I don't like is fireworks. They're loud and scary, and I'd rather curl up somewhere quiet when they start. But all in all, life is pretty sweet for this spoiled granddog!
