An Exciting Future Ahead!

Nate Temple discovered his passion for flying at just 13 years old during AeroCamp at The Flying School. After his very first landing, he knew that aviation was his calling — a belief he still holds firmly today.

A 2025 graduate of Fossil Ridge High School, Nate will be attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona, this fall, where he will study Aeronautical Science. This program will equip him with the skills and certifications needed to pursue his dream of becoming a professional pilot.

For Nate, flying is more than a goal — it's an exhilarating and rewarding experience, with the ever-changing view from the cockpit as one of its many highlights. In addition to flying full-sized aircraft, Nate also enjoys rebuilding and flying RC airplanes, and he plans to join the AIAA Design/Build/Fly collegiate competition team at Embry-Riddle.

While flying airplanes is Nate’s top priority, Mechanical Engineering is a close second. He has always had a passion for creating and building all things mechanical. His strong skills in mechanical design led him to become a key contributor on FIRST Robotics Team 4388 – Ridgebotics, where he has been an active member for the past three years.

Furthering his interest in engineering, in the summer of 2023, Nate was one of fifty students from across the state of Colorado to be offered an Aerospace Engineering Internship from the Colorado Space Business Roundtable. This was a tremendous opportunity that provided him with hands-on experience engaging with aerospace companies, university programs, and industry leaders.

That same year, Nate was also offered an Apprenticeship position at Broadcom in Fort Collins, and he has worked in this capacity for over two years now. This opportunity has given him the experience of working directly with equipment technicians and engineers and seeing first-hand the types of tasks and responsibilities included in an engineering role. While earning his degree in Aeronautical Science, Nate plans to pursue a second degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Nate and his family have lived in Ptarmigan since 2009, along with their adorable French Bulldog named Tug. In Nate’s free time, he likes to stay active. An avid skier since the age of seven, he’s been a season pass holder for most of his life and has spent countless hours on the slopes with family and friends. He also enjoys stand-up paddleboarding, as well as playing golf, pickleball, and video games with friends.

Nate is an exceptional young man, and Stroll Ptarmigan Hills & Meadows magazine wishes him continued success as he embarks on this exciting next chapter of his journey.
