Meet Linda Motter: Highland Meadows Resident and Family Support Director at Finally Home

Linda Motter

Highland Meadows resident Linda Motter has made it her mission to support families in need, especially those involved in foster care, adoption, and kinship care. Since joining Finally Home in September 2023, Linda has been dedicated to helping families access the resources they need to thrive, both mentally and emotionally.

Finally Home is a Christian non-profit organization that provides comprehensive support to foster, adoptive, and kinship families. Through education, mental health resources, and practical tools, Finally Home helps families navigate the challenges they face while raising children who have experienced trauma. As the Family Support Director, Linda plays a crucial role in helping these families connect with vital mental health services, often offering financial assistance for their mental health needs as well.

In addition to mental health support, Finally Home offers an evidence-based curriculum, Survival Skills for Healthy Families, which focuses on improving communication and connection and creating peaceful homes. Linda is deeply committed to helping families strengthen relationships and build healthier, more resilient homes.

Linda encourages others in the community to get involved with Finally Home’s important work. The organization relies on volunteers to support various initiatives, such as mentoring middle and high school students at the Solid Rock Student events, teaching kids at the Super Hero Academy during the annual conference, and building Toolkits for Big Emotions. Volunteers can also help at fundraising events like the walk-a-thon and golf tournament or contribute financially by joining the Home Team with monthly donations or hosting events to raise funds.

Although Linda has known about Finally Home since its inception in the early 2000s, she became personally involved in its mission in the fall of 2023. After learning about a new initiative to support the mental health needs of foster and adoptive families, Linda’s passion for helping these families led to her role as Family Support Director. She is grateful for the opportunity to work with such dedicated families and is deeply moved by the stories she hears from those she serves.

“I absolutely love getting to know so many families who have opened their homes and hearts to children through foster, adoption, or kinship care. Although they may be in a tough situation, it’s such a blessing to step into their story and offer support,” says Linda. “Our families often face trauma-based challenges, and it’s a privilege to help them find the care and treatment they need to heal and grow.”

Linda and her husband Tim moved to Highland Meadows in March 2006, drawn by the neighborhood’s convenient location to Northern Colorado communities and Denver International Airport (DIA). Tim traveled frequently for work, so the easy access to key areas was a significant factor in their decision.

Linda and Tim have raised two teenage daughters, Chloe (16) and Rylee (18), who both attend Timnath Middle-High. Rylee is graduating this year and plans to attend the University of Northern Colorado. Linda’s family has always supported her work, often joining her at events and helping with resource tables. The Motters have enjoyed building lasting relationships with their neighbors and appreciate the ease of access to local businesses and events that Highland Meadows provides.

Linda is eager to connect with any local foster, adoptive, or kinship families who may benefit from Finally Home’s services. Families interested in educational courses or mental health support can contact Linda directly at familysupport@finallyhome.net.

Linda’s work at Finally Home reflects her deep passion for helping others. Her commitment to serving families who have opened their hearts to children in need is truly inspiring. Whether through volunteer efforts, financial support, or simply spreading the word about Finally Home’s resources, there are many ways for the Highland Meadows community to get involved and make a difference in the lives of these families.
