Ideal Dermatology - Providing a Sense of Home
Kevin Mott, MD, FAAD
“I’ve been here for many years and can’t imagine working elsewhere. Our patients are wonderful, and our team is, too. It feels like a sense of home. Belonging. It’s my greatest hope that when a new patient walks in the door, they feel that sense of home, too,” said Katie Olsen, a Board-Certified PA at Ideal Dermatology.
Ideal Dermatology was founded in 2015 by Kevin J. Mott, MD, FAAD. Dr. Mott received his medical degree in 1986, completed an internship in General Surgery, and served in the Navy for many years. Following his military career, Dr. Mott finished a residency and fellowship in dermatology and dermatologic surgery at the University of Missouri. He worked in Hawaii before relocating to Boulder to open the first Ideal Dermatology office. Dr. Mott specializes in Mohs surgery, a treatment method for skin cancer.
Nearly twenty years later, Ideal Dermatology has grown to include five office locations in Loveland, Fort Collins, Windsor, Sterling, and Boulder. It has eight providers and treats thousands of patients annually.
Katie Olsen, a resident of Highland Meadows, works out of the Windsor office on Wednesdays and the Loveland location three days per week. Prior to dermatology, Katie was in Family Medicine. This experience has given Katie a well-rounded approach that her clients have come to appreciate. Katie feels proud to live and treat patients right in her hometown.
The Windsor Ideal Dermatology is located in the Village Medical building on Main Street. The team offers virtual appointments outside regular business hours to help patients fit care into their schedules. Ideal Dermatology also sees patients in Sterling a few times a month.
Ideal Dermatology is full of engaged and warm individuals who care about their patients. “We have a wonderful team,” said Laura Mari, the Practice Administrator. “We consider ourselves a family and care for our patients like they are family, too. Our staff has been here a long time, and we’ve been fortunate to have built great relationships with our patients at each location.”
“We are very lucky to have such good providers,” Laura said. “Katie is so wonderful, and people can trust the care they get when they come to Ideal Dermatology.”
Katie has found a niche that is very beneficial to her patients. She partners with a UC Health rheumatology provider to help treat autoimmune conditions that often present on the skin. “Sometimes your skin can give us clues as to what’s happening inside your body, in your joints and organs. With a team approach of dermatology and rheumatology, we can start to put the puzzle pieces together and get you the relief you need,” Katie said. “It’s really rare for patients to get a collaborative and cohesive approach. I am passionate about helping people with some of the trickier diseases.”
Katie notes that many skin conditions, including dry skin, worsen in winter. “If you’re experiencing any uncomfortable or even painful skin issues this winter, we’re here to help,” she said.
