Meet Marty Stine and Debby Myers: Highland Meadows Residents Who Know How to Have Fun and Give Back

If you've ever met Marty Stine and Debby Myers, you know that this couple embodies the spirit of living life to the fullest while also giving back to their community. They've been calling Highland Meadows home since 2002, and with their family of five, two Labradoodles, and a shared love for adventure, they lead an exciting life.

Marty and Debby’s roots stretch far and wide. Marty, a chiropractor since 1998, hails from Iowa, where he grew up in Cedar Rapids and attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa. He served as a medic in the military before pursuing his degree, and in 1998, he moved to Colorado to open his chiropractic office, Stine Chiropractic, in Windsor. Originally from Cody, Wyoming, Debby made her way to Colorado in 1993 after graduating from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor of Science in political science. Afterwards, she attended Denver Paralegal Institute. She's now a Business Development Manager at First American Title, specializing in residential and commercial title insurance. Her parents still live in the same house where she was raised, so when she says, “I’m going home,” she really means it. “Even my bedroom furniture is still the same,” she says with a smile.

Marty’s kids and Debby’s bonus kids, Maverick, 26; Natalie, 24; and Mason, 21, keep them on their toes. Maverick is an archery manager at Scheels in Iowa City and loves hunting and fishing. Natalie, who recently completed her master’s in nursing, is working in neurology rehab in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and is planning her wedding in September 2025. Mason is a junior at the University of Iowa, balancing school and a part-time job at Scheels while enjoying his love for football and beer.

In addition to their busy family lives Marty and Debby dedicate themselves to making the world a better place. Debby is involved in local philanthropy through her role on the Asset Management Committee for Neighbor-To-Neighbor, a nonprofit focused on Homelessness to Homeownership.  She also ran in the Wild West Relay (an overnight relay from Fort Collins to Steamboat Springs) for ten years, raising funds for The Matthews House.  “Every step I took, every year I ran, meant something to me.  I had donors that came back year after year.  It was incredible.  I should have kept track of my total donations, but it surely would have been over $30,000.00. We feel incredibly blessed to be part of such a wonderful community and want to give back. If each of us contributes, even a little, it can truly make a difference. Whether it's through time or financial support, every bit has a meaningful impact."

Marty and Debby play a lot of golf. Marty says, “We both play in summer leagues on Tuesday nights, but we always find time to play at least 18 holes together.  We have a fun but competitive match-play game. We love to check out different courses and plan vacations that often include golf.”  When not golfing, the Stine/Myers love to unwind with activities like hiking, camping, snowshoeing, skiing, traveling, reading, gardening, sky & scuba diving (Debby is still trying to talk Marty into both), hanging with friends, and family and DIY projects.

Traveling is another favorite pastime; they try to combine beach vacations with a few rounds of golf, and Marty makes a yearly fishing trip to Canada with his sons. Debby also enjoys an annual girls’ diving trip to Cozumel, and the couple is a proud part of the Idaho Couples Association. Debby says, with a laugh, “We are always guaranteed to win the Colorado division!”  In addition to these activities, they are avid music fans. On their bucket list was a desire to see Bob Segar, which finally happened after the concert was postponed by a year.  Debby says, “We always catch at least one show during Cheyenne Frontier Days, and I won’t miss a P!nk concert.  She is worth every penny every single time.”

Locally, the Stine/Myers are regulars at several of Windsor’s favorite spots. They love the pizza at Cables and Ridgehill and can often be found at Mash Lab and Pizza Vino. The couple enjoys supporting local businesses, including the area’s craft breweries. After a round of golf, they’re often found relaxing at the 19th hole for a beverage and good conversation.

When asked about their favorite part about living in the neighborhood, Marty replies, “We still love our house. It works great when it’s just us or if we have a full house.  Our neighbors are wonderful.  Everyone looks after one another and is always willing to help you out.    It’s a very walkable friendly neighborhood with open space to launch balls for the pups.”

For the Stine/Myers, life is about enjoying the little things. They have a strong sense of community and appreciate the peaceful yet connected vibe of Highland Meadows. Marty’s military background and chiropractic career, and Debby’s work in business development and community service have shaped their outlook on life. The neighborhood is a perfect fit for them—it is enough off the beaten trail to feel “homey” but still close to amenities, with easy access to the tri-cities and I-25.

“Life is good!” Debby says, reflecting on their family’s approach to life. And it’s easy to see why. Whether it’s the fun competition that often erupts over a round of golf or cards, the shared meals (Marty is the chef at home, specializing in soups and grilling, while Debby brings her famous red chili and Jell-O shots to the table), or simply spending time together, the Stine/Myers know how to savor every moment.

One of their favorite family traditions is competing over almost anything, from golf games to bowling, with the loser often tasked with cleaning up after dinner. Last Christmas, they even had their own version of the Griswold Family Christmas, with all the kids, Marty’s parents, and his brother joining in for a festive celebration.

Their favorite quote, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step,” by Lao Tzu, speaks to their mindset. They always strive to be the best versions of themselves and appreciate the special moments that make life so rich. It’s no wonder that their motto is a simple but powerful one: “We are the ‘Luckies.’” As a family, they’ve embraced the lucky number seven and the fun, competitive spirit that defines their family dynamic.

As they look ahead to new adventures, Debby’s ambitious goal to hike the Grand Canyon Rim to Rim in 2025, Marty’s ongoing pursuit of golfing greatness, and the family’s continued passion for life make it clear that the Stine/Myers aren’t slowing down anytime soon.

So, next time you see Marty and Debby around Highland Meadows, know that they’re not just enjoying the good life but also working hard to make the world a better place, one golf game and community service project at a time. Debby emphasizes, “Please say hello.  We love to meet new people!”
