Meet the Garfinkle Family of Highland Meadows

Residents with a passion for community, science, and smiles

Arielle and Isaac Garfinkle, along with their two sons, William (5) and David (1), and their three sweet pets —Juniper and Truffle (both dogs) and Claude the cat —have called Highland Meadows home for the past three years. “We chose this neighborhood because it’s just beautiful,” says Arielle. “It has the feel of a close-knit community, great schools like Bamford Elementary, and we’re close to both Fort Collins and Denver. Plus, the sidewalks are perfect for family walks.”

Originally from Philadelphia, both Arielle and Isaac carry their East Coast roots with pride. “Go Birds!” Isaac laughs, referencing their beloved Philadelphia Eagles.

Arielle attended Skidmore College before earning her dental degree at Temple University in Philadelphia, followed by a residency at Marillac Health in Grand Junction, Colorado. Today, she owns The Smile Garden of East Windsor, where she focuses on dental cosmetics, surgeries, and helping patients understand how their oral health connects to their overall well-being.

“We take a holistic, patient-focused approach to your care, prioritizing your overall well-being in a serene, spa-like setting. Your oral health reflects your overall wellness, so we make sure to see the bigger picture. We consider how your oral health impacts your body's vital functions, taking into account factors like nutrition, stress, and daily habits. After all, when your smile is healthy, your whole body thrives”, states Arielle. She goes on to say, “My goal is to really take the time to listen, show people what I see, and explain everything in a way that makes sense to them.”

Isaac also attended Temple University for graduate school after completing his undergraduate degree at Brandeis University. He now works as a clinical social worker specializing in ADHD treatment, family therapy, and individual counseling. But his passions don’t end there. He also runs After-Hours Astronomy, a business dedicated to supporting amateur astronomers with late-night tech assistance, private events, and guided dark-sky excursions.

“I love being able to blend science and support,” Isaac shares. “Whether it’s through therapy or stargazing, it’s about helping people connect—with themselves, with others, or with the universe.”

The Garfinkles are passionate about being part of the local community. Arielle is an active member of the Windsor Chamber of Commerce and enjoys attending local events to connect with other small business owners. “Building The Smile Garden has been such a rewarding experience,” she says. “We’re really focused on growing both personally and professionally.”

Their oldest son, William, is a student at Bamford Elementary and plays soccer with the Windsor Rec Center. David is just beginning to explore the world around him.

Family time often means home-cooked meals (with Isaac’s homemade bread as a staple), backyard playtime, and creative projects. “We cook most meals at home and love having dinner together,” says Arielle. “It’s one of our favorite ways to unwind.”

When they’re not at home, you might find the Garfinkles exploring Aberdour Park, camping in the mountains, or hopping on the train to Denver to visit museums and try new restaurants. Some of their go-to spots include Sushi Den, Tamaki Den, The Social in Fort Collins, Jax Oyster Bar, and Izzio Bakery at Denver Central Market.

The Garfinkles enjoy live music, especially at the Aggie Theatre, and are fans of shows like Star Trek and How It’s Made. Between 3D printing, photography, cooking, and entrepreneurship, there’s no shortage of hobbies to keep them inspired.

If you see the Garfinkles around the neighborhood, don’t hesitate to say hello. Whether you’re looking for a restaurant recommendation, dental advice, or a tip on spotting the next meteor shower, chances are they’ll be happy to chat.
