Jason Visnic’s path to owning one of Northern Colorado’s most trusted service companies started with a simple phone call. Raised in Ohio, Jason moved to Colorado in his early twenties after a friend invited him to be a roommate. “He called me at the right time,” Jason said. “I was looking for a change and ready to make a move. I’ve been here ever since.”
 
That move proved to be life‑changing. Jason’s first job in Fort Collins was with a local HVAC company, but it wasn’t long before another opportunity presented itself. “My friend encouraged me to switch careers and join him as his apprentice in the electrical trade. I immediately fell in love with the work and knew I wanted to make a career out of it,” he shared.
 
Jason deeply believes in mastering the trades. Becoming a master electrician takes a minimum of five years, and for Jason, the journey took seven. “I had so much to learn,” he said. “I’m so glad I did it, though. I have the skills and knowledge to help people with one of the most important basic necessities.”
 
Armed with that expertise, Jason founded Limelight Services in 2008, just before the housing crisis. “That was a fun time to start a business,” he said with a laugh. “It took us a few years to figure it out, but it ended up being a good experience for us. I always say, ‘We know what to do when times are tough; take care of our clients, and the rest follows.”
 
Jason worked solo for the first two years before hiring his first employee in 2010. Today, Limelight Services has grown to a team of 34, serving all of Northern Colorado. They are one of the very few family‑ and locally‑owned companies offering three essential services under one roof: plumbing, electrical, and heating and air conditioning.
 
“In this industry, it’s exceedingly rare to find a family‑owned company that’s run right here in our community,” Jason explained. “Most have been bought out, which means they’ve lost that personal touch and accountability. Limelight is local, and that makes a big difference.”
 
That local commitment extends to the people behind the scenes. Limelight Services is truly a family business. Jason’s wife, Melissa, manages the company’s accounting. Their son, Brody, is an electrical apprentice and also assists with accounting. Ben, a licensed electrician, has been with Limelight for over nine years and helps train new team members. Corey Torres, who joined the company last year, brings extensive experience to his role as General Manager. “I really believe in these people and stand by their work,” Jason said. “They’re the best in the business.”
 
With more than 1,500 exceptional reviews and a business built largely on referrals, Limelight Services has earned its reputation as a trusted contractor. The team services well over 3,000 homes and businesses each year. “We stand by our core values of trust, integrity, understanding, and kindness,” Jason said. “We extend that to not only our teammates, but our clients as well. Limelight continues to lead the way with offerings that set them apart. They provide a lifetime warranty on replacement water heaters, an uncommon benefit in the plumbing industry. “I don’t know of any other plumber who does this,” Jason said. “A lifetime warranty is a big deal and gives our clients real peace of mind.”
 
They’ve also expanded their services to meet the evolving needs of homeowners. Limelight Services is a certified Generac dealer and installs generators ranging from budget‑friendly options that keep furnaces running during outages to full, whole‑house generator systems. “We have solutions for all budgets and all levels of backup power,” Jason noted.
 
Another area where Limelight shines is helping customers navigate rebates and incentives. The company works directly with government agencies and utility providers to secure rebates, often tied to high‑efficiency HVAC upgrades. With a growing push toward electrification and reduced reliance on natural gas, heat pumps have become a major focus. “Heat pumps are a big seller right now, and the rebates on them can be significant,” Jason explained. “We’re on the leading edge of what can be offered.”
 
What makes the process especially easy for customers is that Limelight handles all the details. Rebates are applied directly to the customer’s purchase, and Limelight submits the paperwork and manages reimbursement. “Our customers don’t have to deal with the hassle,” Jason said. “In many cases, we’re saving people thousands of dollars.”
 
Outside of work, the Visnic family loves camping, traveling, and spending time outdoors. They’re big animal lovers and proudly feature their golden retriever, FJ, in Limelight’s advertising whenever possible. Jason is also passionate about music and plays drums and bass guitar in a local band.
 
“There are a lot of good tradespeople in the area,” Jason said. “All we want is what’s best for our customers. I hope you give us a chance to prove we’ll take care of you and treat you right.”
