Meet Sam Kellogg: A Dedicated and Ambitious Highland Meadows Resident

Although Sam has lived here for just a little over a year, his passion for hard work, dedication to his community, and interest in mental and medical care are already clear to anyone who knows him.
A proud student at Timnath High School, Sam has big aspirations for his future. He hopes to work full-time and attend Colorado State University (CSU) to pursue a degree focused on mental and medical care. His commitment to his goals is unwavering, but it’s clear that he’s already taking steps to gain valuable experience and build a strong foundation for his future.
Sam is the eldest member of a close-knit family. He lives with his 10-year-old brother, Max, his parents, Amiee and Dave, and their two dogs, Millie and Ollie, in Highland Meadows. From helping with chores to meal planning and cooking for his family, Sam's sense of responsibility is evident.
Sam is not just a student but also an athlete with a wide variety of interests. He plays baseball, enjoys boxing, and has a flair for creativity through drawing and cooking. Whether on the baseball field or in the kitchen, Sam thrives on the opportunity to learn new skills, collaborate with others, and push his limits.
One of the things that sets Sam apart is his keen interest in working. Over the past year, he’s actively sought opportunities to earn money and build responsibility. This includes pet sitting, babysitting, and helping neighbors with odd jobs. Sam says, “Working is fun because it gives me a sense of accomplishment and I get to meet really nice people. I particularly like childcare and pet sitting because I enjoy the energy and fun it brings to being around them.” He’s also been volunteering at his church, working with Pre-K4 students, and holds a Red Cross childcare certification, which speaks to his dedication and growing experience.
This drive stems from a desire to practice responsibility and save money, particularly in anticipation of his 16th birthday in December. Like any teenager, Sam looks forward to the day he can drive, but he’s also aware of the financial commitments of owning a car. So, he’s using his time wisely to prepare for that next step.
Despite the challenges of balancing school, sports, work, and personal life, Sam knows how to prioritize and manage his time effectively. He has an admirable approach to life, constantly striving to improve while ensuring he doesn’t get overwhelmed. He credits his ability to stay organized to his schedule and time management, but he also makes time for relaxation and fun with friends. After all, balance is key.
Sam’s positive outlook on life is also shaped by his admiration for a close friend who faces a disability. His friend's perseverance and ability to maintain a positive attitude, while making others feel good about themselves, has motivated Sam to bring that same energy and positivity into his own life.
As Sam looks ahead to his future, he’s eager to continue developing his skills and work ethic.
