Meet The Lorenzen Family of Highland Meadows

Since 2013, the Lorenzen family has lived on Spanish Bay Drive in Highland Meadows. Their household includes Ben, Chrissy, their two children, Gianna and Jaxon, their beloved Boston Terrier, Hamilton (a.k.a. Hammy), and two fish, Big Brain and Peyton.
The Lorenzens fell in love with Highland Meadows because of its golf course and welcoming community. Over the years, they have formed close friendships with their neighbors and enjoy the perks of living in a golf cart-friendly neighborhood. Chrissy says, “Some of our closest friendships have been formed with our neighbors.” Even the occasional stray golf ball can’t dampen their enthusiasm for their home.
Originally from Colorado, Chrissy grew up in Buena Vista, while Ben hails from Arvada. They met at Colorado State University, where Ben studied Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Marketing. He later earned a master’s degree in Sports Administration from Wichita State University. Chrissy holds a Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science from CSU and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Arizona.
Chrissy is a registered nurse and the proud owner of Premier Skin Clinic, a medical spa and wellness clinic in Fort Collins. With 10 years in critical care nursing, Chrissy transitioned to aesthetics to help clients age confidently. "My goal is to enhance natural beauty and ensure your appearance reflects your inner vitality," she says. Chrissy delivers exceptional results alongside her talented team of 10 experts using science-backed technology and products. Some specialties at Premier Skin Clinic include injections, laser treatments, microneedling, and body contouring. Ben is a Principal/Partner at Indicate Capital, bringing his expertise in business and finance to his role.
The Lorenzens share similar interests in skiing, golfing, and traveling. Gianna, who attends Timnath Middle High School, has a passion for volleyball and currently plays as a libero/defensive specialist, focusing on improving her jump serve. She also enjoys golf, competing on her middle school team, and participating in state tournaments during the summer. Jaxon, a student at Bamford Elementary, has a deep love for flag football. He has spent several years as his team's quarterback, though he also enjoys playing wide receiver. Ben has coached the team for multiple seasons, making it a special activity they love sharing.
Both Chrissy and Ben are actively involved in supporting their community. For the past three years, Chrissy has served on the golf tournament fundraising team for Bamford Elementary School, while Ben dedicates time to flag football coaching. The entire family contributes to a Toys for Tots toy drive at Premier Skin Clinic every Christmas. Gianna and Chrissy also support Women Give, a United Way charity that provides scholarships for women pursuing education while covering childcare expenses. Additionally, Gianna enjoys volunteering as a leader at vacation Bible school every summer.
Beyond their professional and community commitments, the Lorenzens cherish quality family time. They love dining at Pizza Vino and Nori Maki Bar, watching "Happy Gilmore," and listening to diverse music, from the Red Hot Chili Peppers to Taylor Swift and country tunes. Jaxon particularly likes rap music. Their favored family meals include steak and Ben’s famous smashburgers. They also like to cheer on their favorite sports teams: the Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets, Avalanche, CSU Rams, and the University of Arizona Wildcats.
When they seek relaxation, the family escapes to Steamboat Springs, where they ski, fish, hike, and paddleboard. Their love for travel also takes them to their favorite vacation destination—Hawaii.
Guided by their family motto, “Attitude of Gratitude,” the Lorenzens emphasize the importance of perspective and appreciation. Chrissy states it well by saying, “We believe that perspective shapes life, so we focus on gratitude—even for everyday things like work and school. Hard work is key (“work hard, play hard”), and as long as you give your best, there’s no true failure—only growth. Kindness, the golden rule, and staying true to yourself are values we live by, along with standing up for others and taking pride in all we do.”
One of their favorite traditions is making homemade pizzas and cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve. “We wear matching pajamas, although that’s not everyone’s favorite,” Chrissy says with a smile. Another cherished tradition is their annual fall trip to the beach, which creates memories that last a lifetime.
The Lorenzen family perfectly blends hard work, community spirit, and adventure. Whether cheering on their favorite sports teams, volunteering to make a difference, or enjoying time on the slopes and golf course, they embrace life with gratitude and enthusiasm.
