Meet the Chavez Family: Building a Life of Purpose and Fun in Highland Meadows

Residing on Lighthouse Lane in Highland Meadows, the Chavez family—Jason, Brandie, and their three children, Kai (14), Ami (12), and Neila (11)—are living out a life rooted in faith, family, and community.

Alongside their dog Oakley and cat Fiona, the Chavezes have called Highland Meadows home for five years, drawn in by its peaceful atmosphere and kid-friendly vibe. From the moment they stepped out of the car during their first visit, they knew this neighborhood was something special, and time has proven them right.

“The community of kids has been the highlight. Our children are always outside playing with friends their age, which has really encouraged less screen time and more connection. Everyone looks out for each other, and there’s a strong sense of warmth and safety. We also love the mountain views and how conveniently located we are between Fort Collins and Loveland”, states Brandie.

Brandie, as CEO, and Jason, as COO, lead their company with a focus on residential remodeling, basement finishes, additions, and custom projects such as pole barns. Their business is built on a foundation of integrity, transparency, and a steadfast commitment to high-quality craftsmanship. “We eliminate surprises and close communication gaps that often frustrate homeowners,” Brandie shares. "Clarity, consistency, and trust are the cornerstones of our company." With plans to expand into commercial construction, the couple is excited about the future, both for their business and their growing impact in the community.

Originally from Florida, Jason and Brandie both bring strong educational and professional backgrounds. Jason studied Ocean Engineering at FAU, while Brandie earned her degree in Sociology and Business from Palm Beach. Though their roots are coastal, they’ve embraced Colorado life, from paddle boarding and hiking to enjoying mountain views and, of course, Highland Meadows Park. Their children are homeschooled and thrive in an environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and connection. Kai is active in youth group and recently wrote a 7-day devotional for teen boys. Ami loves baseball and has a strong entrepreneurial spirit, often launching creative neighborhood ventures. Brandie says, “He's even inspired other neighborhood kids to earn money creatively through things like snack stands, snow shoveling, and yard work.”  Neila enjoys drawing and recently published her own coloring book as part of a large homeschool project.

Community involvement is a big part of life for the Chavezes. Jason coaches youth football and baseball, and together, he and Brandie have served in ministry for over a decade. Brandie is passionate about connecting with community leaders, growing the business, and equipping believers through ministry. She recently preached in Brno, Czech Republic, focusing on transformation and living in love, while Jason is focused on raising their sons into men of character, growing the business to serve families, and staying involved in the political landscape to help shape a better future.

The Chavez family knows how to enjoy life both at home and abroad. When dining out locally, they love favorites like First Watch, Paris Ban Mi, The Tavern, and Austin's. Originally from Florida, they return often throughout the year, but they also have a passion for travel, especially to Europe, with Prague being a standout favorite, and they enjoy relaxing getaways in Puerto Rico as well. When it comes to sports, they cheer for a mix of teams, including the Florida Gators, Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, and, of course, the Denver Broncos. Their entertainment tastes are just as diverse. Jason is a fan of Top Gun, while Brandie and Neila enjoy Hallmark movies and the show When Calls The Heart. The kids enjoy YouTube creators like Ryan Trahan and movies like The Lorax. Music is always playing in their home, with Kai into artists like Red Tips and Miles Minnick, Ami enjoying a mix of Miles Minnick, Forest Frank, and even Michael Jackson, while Neila prefers Josiah Queen and Forest Frank. Jason and Brandie happily listen along to whatever their kids are into, making music yet another way this tight-knit family stays connected.

Despite their busy schedules, family time remains at the heart of everything they do. Whether it’s grilling steak with Caesar salad and watermelon for dinner, hiking local trails, or simply laughing at each other’s jokes, the Chavez family embraces every moment together. One of their favorite traditions is driving to Estes Park after the first snow each year to pick out a unique ornament from The Spruce House Christmas shop, a sweet way to mark the changing seasons and their shared memories.

Their lives are guided by three core scriptures that speak to grace, transformation, and love—Ephesians 2:8-9, 2 Corinthians 5:17, and 1 Corinthians 13:4-7—reminding them daily of who they are and who they’re becoming. "Our mission is simple: become love,” says Brandie. “We want to live in a way that impacts others and brings light into the world.”

Highland Meadows has provided the Chavezes not just a house, but a community where their children thrive, their business grows, and their faith flourishes. It's a place where values are lived out, dreams are built—sometimes literally—and life is celebrated, one laugh, one project, and one neighborly connection at a time.
