Meet Felipe Edminston
Designing beautiful homes in Charlotte
Felipe Edmiston and his family moved from Colombia to Charlotte when he was just 14 years
old. The move from South America to the United States was the first of many events in
Edmiston’s life that led him to open his own interior design firm, Felipe Edmiston Interiors.
The Edmiston family adjusted well to their new city and have called Charlotte home ever since.
Felipe attended Olympic High School before pursuing a business degree from Queens
University. However, during his time at Queens University, he discovered one of his passions:
ballroom dancing. Felipe followed his passion from Charlotte to Utah Valley University to study
dance.
After committing to dance for several years, he moved once again to New York to study at the
New York School of Interior Design. From there, Felipe returned home to Charlotte and opened
Felipe Edmiston Interiors. The interior design firm specializes in high-end design and creativity.
The goal of the firm is to create beautiful, functional spaces for their clients. Edmiston credits a
natural instinct for interior design, as well as the professional advice and formal education he
received, as the pillars of success in his career.
Felipe chose Charlotte as the home of his business for a multitude of reasons. Charlotte has been the home of the Edmiston family since they moved here back in the early 2000s. They have strong connections to the area and have made lasting relationships with the people. Felipe acknowledges the “sense of belonging and support” as the reasons for choosing Charlotte.
Also, Felipe noticed the growth of Charlotte and its thriving economy during his time here. He
views Charlotte as one of the major cities in the Southeast and thought it would be a great home for his new business.
Lastly, Edmiston loves the culture and lifestyle Charlotte has to offer. Edmiston says, “It strikes a balance between urban amenities and a welcoming community atmosphere.” The community
enriches both his personal and professional life.
Edmiston defined ten tips to follow during your interior design project: Trust your designer,
define your vision, prioritize quality, balance trends with timelessness, create functional spaces,
embrace personalization, plan for lighting, budget wisely, communicate openly, and enjoy the
process. These tips allow the customer to make informed decisions with confidence, resulting in their perfect living space.
Outside of interior design, Felipe enjoys spending time with his fiancé Tom and their two King
Charles Cavaliers, Sofia and Stella, as well as staying active by playing tennis. Felipe works with Dancing with the Stars of Charlotte, a local charity that focuses on improving access to
healthcare, specifically raising money for breast cancer awareness. Felipe is also passionate
about mental health awareness. He supports a new mental health center that helps children and adolescents struggling with their mental health. His mission through his philanthropic endeavors is to create “a stronger and more supportive community for everyone.”
Felipe Edmiston is committed to delivering the best interior design work to Charlotte and has
many years of experience helping his customers’ visions come to life. Their goal is to create a
design that exceeds the client’s expectations and makes the experience enjoyable and easy.
Edmiston has lived an eventful life: moving to America at a young age, learning ballroom
dancing, studying interior design, and opening his own design firm in Charlotte. He is also an
exceptional member of the community through his work with Dancing with the Stars of
Charlotte and his support for mental health facilities. Now 38 years old, Felipe Edmiston will
continue to support the Charlotte community, spend time with his family, and operate his own
interior design firm.
