Stark and Tigger, our two Labrador Retrievers, bring boundless joy and laughter to our family every day. Their story begins with two separate journeys that would eventually lead to perfect companionship.

Stark, our dignified Black Lab, joined us first. He came from Southeastern Guide Dogs, now known as Dogs Inc., where he had spent his early years as a revered stud. Stark had sired seven remarkable litters, each one a testament to his impressive lineage. When Stark retired from his breeding duties, he was ready for a new chapter. We were lucky enough to welcome him into our home, where his mellow personality quickly made him a beloved member of the family.

Tigger's story began with a different kind of transition. We first met him through the Labrador Retriever Rescue of FL, where he was up for fostering. From the moment he bounded into our lives, it was clear that Tigger's infectious energy and affectionate nature were meant to be a permanent part of our family. After just three weeks of fostering, we found ourselves unable to part with him, leading us to become "foster failures" and officially adopt him. Tigger’s playful antics and loving heart made him an instant best buddy to Stark, and the two became inseparable.

Together, Stark and Tigger are a dynamic duo, thriving on our daily adventures. They adore their long walks through the neighborhood, where they meet and greet their many furry friends like Bell, Nola, and Bear. Their enthusiasm for road trips, boating, and swimming on the sandbars is matched only by their joy in joining us for dinner outings. No matter where we go, they are always eager to come along, making every outing an event to remember.

One of the highlights of their days is when they receive special treats. Stark and Tigger are not picky eaters; in fact, they would do just about anything for a tasty treat, with Frosty Paws dog ice cream being their absolute favorite.

Stark, with his calm and loving demeanor, also has a heart for service. As a Certified Therapy Dog, he spends each week volunteering at SMH, where his gentle presence brings comfort and smiles to patients and staff alike. His therapeutic visits are a cherished part of our routine, and the positive impact he makes is heartwarming.

Tigger, on the other hand, is the epitome of mischief and fun. He’s known for his antics of grabbing anything he can find around the house, wagging his tail in a way that looks like he’s perpetually smiling, and making us chase him for a laugh. One of the funniest moments was when Stark, in his younger years, got into a bag of flour. The sight of him covered in white powder was so endearing and ridiculous that it was impossible to stay mad and his guilty expression only made us laugh harder.

Stark and Tigger’s story is one of love, laughter, and companionship. They are more than pets; they are family, and every day with them is an adventure filled with joy and affection. We are truly grateful that they came into our lives and for the endless happiness they bring us.
