Where/why did you get your pet? We rescued Ryder from a shelter when he was just a puppy. We moved into a new home and wanted to get a dog for our son. 

Is there a story behind its name? Since we were living on a golf course, we thought it was fitting to give the dog a golf-related name. We went through the popular golf names like Tiger, Phil, Jack, Rory, and nothing was sticking. Then, there was a tournament happening a few weeks away called the Ryder Cup, and once we said the name, it just clicked and felt right for him.

Anything special or unusual about them (talents/quirks)?  When Ryder is hungry, he will go and grab his food bowl, bring it over, and give us a paw to tell us he wants to eat!

What do you like best about your pet?  We love our Ryder boy so much. He likes to cuddle, he’s very protective, and loves to play outside with his toys.

Any funny stories? Ryder loves to hide golf gloves!! He will sneak around, grab any golf glove he can find, and bury them around outside in the ground, the mulch, and even under flowers. It’s so funny. We will be planting flowers or mowing the lawn and will find a random golf glove poking up from the ground.

How spoiled is your pet? Ryder is very spoiled! He loves to jump up next to you on the couch to cuddle with a blanket! 

What else should we know about your pet and/or how your pet has enriched your home/family? Everyone knows Ryder! He’s the loud barking dog on number 10 green! You will see him sprinting around the yard when he sees a golf cart or golfer coming by! He will bark your ear off until you pet him or say hello. Don’t be afraid to yell his name or say hi next time you drive by!
