Courtney is a professional harpist and the Senior Manager of Marketing at BCD Travel. She has been playing the harp since the age of six, performing for audiences worldwide and composing soundtracks for television, movies, and special projects. Her music can be heard on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. In her role at BCD Travel, she leads the marketing strategy and execution for corporate partnerships.

Activities/Hobbies: They love to ski, travel, and host themed dinner parties and game nights.

Vacation destinations: Their go-to vacation destination during ski season is Holiday Valley, where they try to visit as often as possible. Throughout the year they love exploring new places and seeking out different experiences.

Family Dinner: Family dinner for the Young’s is time to come together over a home-cooked meal. They especially enjoy summer evenings when they can be outdoors, grilling on the patio and watching the sun set over the fairway.

Family Traditions: One of their favorite family traditions is having dinner together every night. During dinner, they take turns sharing their highs and lows of the day—a tradition they extend to holidays, dinner parties, and even when they have guests over. It is  a meaningful way for them  to connect, support one another, and celebrate both the big and small moments of their lives.
Another tradition happens every Christmas Eve, when they gather at Courtney’s parents’ house with her three younger sisters and their families. They all stay overnight in their childhood bedrooms while the kids sleep in the bonus room. On Christmas morning, they wake up together to open presents.  Later in the day the rest of their extended family joins them for dinner, games, and a lively white elephant gift exchange.
They also love hosting themed dinner parties for every major holiday. Their closest friends, Courtney’s sisters, and their friends all join in the fun. This tradition started unexpectedly during COVID, when they found themselves quarantining together after a vacation. With two weeks of isolation, they got creative, planning meals, organizing entertainment, and making the most of what they had on hand. What started as a way to pass the time has since become a beloved tradition that they’ve continued for over four years!

Relaxing: The Young’s love having family movie nights and spending quality time together. They also enjoy visiting their parents in Medina, which always makes for a special grandparent time for their kids.

Community Involvement:  Courtney stays actively involved in the community through her passion for cheerleading and music. She coaches at Top Gun and Avon High School Competition Cheer Team, and she also volunteers with Avon Youth Cheer, where she inspires and mentors young athletes. In addition to cheerleading, she loves giving back through music by volunteering her time as a harpist for local organizations. One of her favorite ways to contribute is by performing interactive holiday programs at local elementary schools. These performances introduce students to the magic of the harp, offering a musical experience that fosters creativity and curiosity. Although her passion for music and cheer has opened the door to many community involvement opportunities, Matt and the kids are just as engaged in every organization she partners with. Matt plays a crucial role behind the scenes, setting up equipment, managing technology, and helping where needed. Ivy sometimes makes special musical appearances and can be seen playing the harp alongside Courtney, adding a special touch to performances. Noah and Lily also contribute in their own ways, bringing their energy and enthusiasm to every event. Their involvement is truly a family effort, and they love working together to support and give back to our community.

Children’s Activities: Ivy is a competitive cheerleader at Top Gun All Stars, where she competes on two teams and has been cheering since she was 4 years old. In addition to Top Gun, she also cheers for Avon Youth and plans to join the Avon Middle School cheer team next year. Ivy also plays the harp and is enjoying her first year in orchestra. Noah is a proud member of the Junior PGA team at Red Tail, where he has been competing for the past three years. Noah plays the piano and is eager to start marimba lessons. Lily enjoys preschool gymnastics at Top Gun and is already looking forward to starting cheerleading next year!

Their favorite part about living in Red Tail: The Young’s favorite part about living in their neighborhood is the incredible sense of community they share with their friends and neighbors. They live in a unique spot on the golf course where the backyards of Crown Colony, Doral, and Royal Saint George all come together, creating a large, open space that naturally brings them together. They’ve affectionately named this shared area the “grassy knoll,” and it has become the heart of their neighbor gatherings. In the summer, it’s the perfect setting for impromptu cookouts filled with large inflatables, water slides, and a variety of backyard games that families enjoy together, making lasting memories.
