Ace: The Gentle Giant of the Czarzasty Family

This 10-year-old English Mastiff may be massive in size, but his heart—and his love for his family—are even bigger.

Ace, the beloved pet of the Czarzasty family, is a big part of their lives. But literally because this sweet boy is a 10-year-old English Mastiff. But that doesn’t stop him from climbing on your lap anytime you sit on the ground or anywhere he has room to act like a tiny dog.

His parents, Aubrey and Andrew, both really wanted a large breed, so they headed to southern Ohio and fell in love. They also felt, as soon as they saw him, that his name fit perfectly. They were thinking of an A name to go along with theirs, and, while they did have a few other options, Ace was the one!

Even though he is a big dog, he truly is so calm and just a cool dude. His chill attitude makes him really great to have around. However, he’ll still use his fierce bark to protect his family, especially his girls, Vivian and Sonora.

Something special about Ace is that he is a reverse brindle, which is what gives him his beautiful brindle pattern that appears as light stripes on his dark body. This is actually pretty rare, as brindle is not a common coat color for the English Mastiff breed, and reverse brindle is an even rarer variant. He can also roll over and do a few other tricks you don’t usually see large dogs do!

Ace’s favorite day of the year is definitely his birthday, and that’s because his family makes him a nice juicy steak as a gift! But he used to be really spoiled before they had kids. He would take vacations to his grandma’s house, sleep in bed with her, and get scrambled eggs and beef gravy over his food!

This big bundle of joy has enriched the Czarzasty’s home and their lives forever.
