Life with the Rames Family
Energy, Tradition, and Togetherness in the Heart of Red Tail
Stroll Red Tail – Family Spotlight
Tucked along Samuel James Lane, the Rames family—Doug, Kelsey, and their children Madison (8) and Jayden (5)—bring warmth, energy, and a love of community to Red Tail. With two spirited dogs, Sampson and Ripley, and a dignified cat named Alfred rounding out the household, there’s rarely a dull moment in their busy, joy-filled home.
Roots & Careers
Doug, originally from St. Louis, works as a CPA, while Kelsey, who grew up in Westlake, is a dedicated RN. The couple met at Miami University, where a chance connection eventually blossomed into the family they now share.
Family Favorites
Active by nature, the Rames crew enjoys exercising, watching sports, and spending time together—whether that’s baking sourdough bread or exploring local parks. Schwartz Park, the Westlake Rec Center, and their own Samuel James Lane cul-de-sac are frequent hangouts for the kids and pups alike.
When it comes to food, AJs and Stonehouse top their local dining list. For travel, Siesta Key, Florida has a special place in their hearts—Kelsey has been visiting since childhood, and it’s now a cherished tradition for their own kids. Summers are also spent at Doug’s family lakehouse in Vandalia, Illinois, especially during the Fourth of July when cousins and extended family gather.
At home, favorites include spaghetti and meatballs or smashburgers around the dinner table, a board game on a quiet evening, or a walk around the neighborhood with the dogs.
Entertainment ranges from Madison and Jayden’s latest obsessions—K-Pop–inspired demon hunters and Wicked—to family favorites like The Office reruns, Landman, and plenty of sports. They avidly cheer on the Cavs, Guardians, St. Louis Cardinals, and St. Louis Blues.
Kids on the Go
Madison keeps busy with tumbling and cheerleading, while Jayden plays T-ball and spends as much time outside with friends as possible. Their activities, along with school and time with cousins, keep the Rames household delightfully lively.
Life in Red Tail
The Rames family moved to Red Tail in 2022 and quickly found their place within the community. They participate in golf activities and leagues and can often be spotted on family walks throughout the neighborhood.
What do they love most? The people. “All of the great neighbors we have met and our kids getting to grow up with so many great friends,” they shared. The past year brought an extra special perk—both of Kelsey’s sisters moved into Red Tail as well. “Now we just need to find a house for Mom!”
Welcome, Doug, Kelsey, Madison, and Jayden!
